Just wondering if anybody else here got stuck with permanently impaired glucose tolerance after their baby was born? I was fine after baby 1, it went away, but after baby 2 my GTT test was no different (well actually it was worse) than during pregnancy.
If you have had this happen to you, what advice were you given and what sort of screening/treatment were you offered if any? And did it get worse in subsequent pregnancies?
I got a reading of 7.9 in pregnancy and 8.4 three months after delivery. I was told to lose 3 stone and go back for an annual fasting blood test. That seems a bit like they've just assumed I'll be getting type 2 diabetes shortly without them actually trying to do much about it
Weren't the rules supposed to be changing to try to prevent the onset of proper diabetes with Metformin?
