Hi guys,

Just a question... We have all heard those mythical stories about the woman who was told she was having a girl and out popped a boy and visa versa I'm just wondering if any one has experienced it first hand? Or had a friend or family member it has happened to?

I had a scan at 15 weeks where I requested not to know the gender but the reg decided to tell me anyway she seemed 100 per cent positive yet I couldn't see what she could and I'm left questioning the accuracy. Also when I researched it most sonographers/doctors avoid giving a guarantee on gender and the private scan centres won't do a gender scan until 18 weeks?!

So I'm confused can any one share their stories and enlighten me?

Thanks in advance girlies xoxo

They can never be 100% sure but the place I go has been open since 2007 and has a 100% accuracy rate and they do scans from 16 weeks.

Here in the UK the earliest anyone will tell you is 16 weeks.

I'd be a little wary of believing a scan that early

Also if she told me it was a boy I might be more inclined to trust that as i'd be guessing she saw clear boy parts

If she said girl I'd be a bit more wary.

In real life I've know 2 people to be told girl and ended up with a boy.

The gender ultrasound elective scan that I went to will only tell you the gender at 16+weeks and you have to bring in proof of due date or they will not scan you. My OB scan will only tell after 18 weeks.

My ultrasounds have been correct on gender but none were at 15 weeks. However, I have heard some finding out at 15 weeks and being correct but I have also heard stories that some earlier scans being incorrect so I wouldn't rush out and by a baby wardrobe over what they said.

Sorry that i am not much help. :haha:
