It is a while off yet hopefully, but time is flying so quick. I would just like to know if any of you know..

1. At what stage/how many weeks will i be induced?
2. Will i be given notice of the induction?
3. How long do you think the induction will take?
4. Is it harmful to the baby if baby's not ready?
5. Will i stay in Hospital from the start of the induction?
6. How long should i expect to be in hospital for given the fact of GD?
7. What is the likely hood of a caesarean?

I have started to think about labour more and more at the moment and i am quite nervous and don't know what to expect as this is my first time.

Replies will be greatly appreciated :flower: XO XO R.

Hi, sorry I am not in UK. Why do you think you will be induced, did the doctor tell you so? I had GD in my previous pregnancy, it was well-controlled, they let me go full term, and I gave birth at 39+5 weeks. The labor started spontaneously but they had to induce me then due to weak contractions (so induction had nothing to do with GD).
This time they told me again, if everything is OK, I can go full term (I was diagnosed with GD at 11 weeks this time).

hi hun I can't answer all but I am type 2 diabetic and I am on metformin and insulin and will be induced at 38 weeks (if you are on medication they don't let you go past week 38 is my understanding!) ... I have my date already. I'll be induced on 11th jan at 8 am!? I've been told to expect a stay for at least 2 days (maybe longer). They should give you steriod shots to build up baby's lungs (2 lots of shots is one round!)

7. What is the likely hood of a caesarean? - hmm I was told they like you to go natural at first but will book a CS in case it doesn't go to plan! Hope that helps?! xxx

With my last pregnancy I was induced at 38 weeks and told that it was a 24 hrs stay min as both me and baby had to still have blood sugars tested. Mine ended in a EMCS due to a prolasped cord when my waters were broken.

This time as I'm insulin dependant again they first said I would be booked in for CS at 38 weeks because they can't induce me because of the previous CS. I kicked off some and they have agreed to break my waters instead if my cervix is favourable. Again they said I will have to stay in hospital for 24 hrs but it is different with each hospital.
