hey there, so its our first, only 7 weeks till im due, we're team yellow but making no progress here! iv made a list of names nd would like your oppinions pls :)

For a boy we like John as middle name after OHs dad but we're willing to change for the right name!

for a girl her middle name will be Mae after my grandmother (non-negotiable).

Boys:
Freddie
Oran
Frankie
Aidan
Rory

Girls:
Lily
Hannah
Lucy

Thanks for your input :D

I love Freddie and Rory.

Not too keen on lily Mae as it's really popular but it's up to you.

I like Lucy it's timeless. Xx

thank you Rory is my fave but my OH only likes the irish version which is not for me!

I originally loved Lily but now iv gone off it, Lucy is such a beautiful name! :) x

Boys:
Freddie - 1/10 - 'ie' names are far too cutesy, imagine it on a CV
Oran - 3/10 - never really heard this before, its interesting
Frankie - 1/10 - same as above with the 'ie'
Aidan - 6/10 - cute, lots of people dislike it but I think its nice
Rory - 7/10 - my dads name  goes well with John which is another family name

Girls:
Lily - 6/10 - very cute/feminie but popular
Hannah - 7/10 - timeless, will age great
Lucy - 4/10 - im not keen on this one

Aidan and Rory were on my list for a boy. I think Rory John sounds great!

I love Lily and Lucy but as pp said Lily Mae is really popular. Lucy Mae sounds beautiful

Apart from lucy thats basically how i feel!! lol

OH chose Freddie n Frankie so they're at the bottom for me too.. i hate that lily mae has become so popular because it just makes it feel less special!

ya salamander Rorys my no.1, Aidan is no.2! :D isnt Lucy Mae just so sweet?! now all i have to do is convince OH, he still loves Lily whereas its losing its shine for me!x

I don't agree with Freddie and frankie being cutesy names as my dads friend is Frankie and he's obv older :).

Think Rory is my fav though.

Like all your girls names Lucy prob a little more than the other two x

Lucy Mae is adorable :flower: Hope you manage to convince him! Lily was my definite choice girls name so I can understand his love but it's so commonly used with Mae I think Lucy would be better.

lol me too, he really loves Lily.. i even think Lucy Mae wrks better with his surname! I really wanna keep Mae as middle name as my grandmother (whos amazing!) has never had her name used on any of her grandchildren, if this is a girl it will be her first great-grand daughter too!

maybe you should let him have final say in the first name if you picked Mae

my son is Cain Jake -

I picked Jake (which he is known as) it was always going to be Jake
OH Picked Cain (which im not keen on) would rather have Kaine, Kayne or Kane as spelling

other options where Billy and Adrian - really wish we had gone for Billy now but then the initials would of been BJ

the issue is I like K and J name - other half likes C and J names lol

if you hate a name then fine vito it but if you picked one name it might be nice to give in a little an let him have his choice too

good luck

i dont know if id automatically let him have final say on the first name when hes got his way on baby taking his surname.. we're not married nd personally i would prefer baby to have my surname but compromised seeing as it meant so much to him. x

Freddie is probably my number 1 boys name for this baby, and Lily is my definite girls choice! So they are my favourites :)

Unfortunately adding Mae or Mai to names and hyphenating them has become 'cool' so there are a ton of Lily-Mae or Darcie-Mai or Lexi-Mae type names running around out there! It's a shame for people like you where Mae is a family name, even with the 'trendy' spelling!

My niece is Holly May she's 13. Her may is the middle name and spelt 'normally' but people still assume she has a hyphenated trendy name!!

i agree it sucks how people will think we chose Mae to be on trend! my 90 yr old grandmother Mae wud beg to differ lol

thank you x :D
