Getting Transferred

My daughter was born at 29+5 on September 4. She has been in the NICU in a hospital 45 minutes away from my house. I don't drive so I couldn't spend the days with her and my husband works until 4:30pm. We spent 1-2 days during the week (in the evenings) with her and both days on the weekend.

They told us once she was off CPAP for a few days, she would be transferred to a hospital closer to us. They tried to take her off CPAP twice and she failed. Last Wednesday, she decided she had enough and pulled the CPAP mask off. They decided to just leave it off and she has done great this time.

The day has come for her to get transferred. :happydance: She has to be in the hospital here to be monitored (she is only 3 pounds) and she has to learn to eat since she is still on a feeding tube. I am so happy that she is doing so good and will be less than 10 minutes from my house. Now I can see her every day.

Congrats, my two angels are still an hour and half away from me, they almost weigh 3 pounds but are still on the cpap machine, I got to hold them yesterday, I know how you feel, the hospital where they are will not transfer even when they get off the cpap machine, I got to hold them for the first time yesterday. I can only go up once a week. Congrats on the transfer.

Congrats! Enjoy every minute of it (though I know I don't need to tell you that!)
