Hi everyone!

I'm the first person I know to have a baby shower so I'm not sure how it works exactly so doing it in my own style with ideas from here. However, I'm stuck for ideas to put in the gift bags for the guests as a thank you for coming.

I don't have much money and I'm a single mum to be so it needs to be inexpensive. I'm expecting about 30 people!! (I have a lot of female support with a big family and lots of friends). I was thinking little milky bars, baby related sweets like jelly babies, dummies, bottles etc. But then I want some nicer adult things too which are baby-related. Any ideas??? Please help!!

I put $1 eye make up things in mine...little notebooks that the hostess bought...I made mini sugar cookies in ducky..bottle..and flower shapes and wrapped them in gift wrap and put them in...oh and I made hemp keychains with cute little dragonfly and flower charms on them...

Wow those are some amazing ideas thank you :) love the personal touch by making things too. That's a really nice idea. You've definitely given me much more of an idea of what to put in. :) thanks :)

I have ordered candles for my favour gifts, but you could also buy some really nice candles in bulk to go in the bags to keep costs down.
I am getting these:

And I have ordered some dummy sucker lollypops for the kids that will be there.

Here is a fun idea... and you could do it very cheap (just buy the candy) and then little cheap gift bags... and use vases, glasses you already have to put the candy in... or hit up the dollar store if you have something like that around where you live?

My friend did this for my shower as a guest "thank you" treat... very cute!!!!

I made choc chip cookies and also put "its a girl mints" in each one...I put in an inexpensive bag and put pink ribbon and a thank you tag on each...

Shower gel/bath gel is always a great prezzie and it's cheap, or soaps and candles, also cheap and a winner :)

My sister bought bulk organza bags and put $1 butterfly candles, a thank you note and silver dove table scatters in each bag for mine =]. Inexpensive and everyone loved them ^^

For the favors, we made chocolate owls, they were easy and fun to make, and didn't cost a lot of money. We made 48 owls, they are about 3 inches tall, and we used up roughly 42 ounces of chocolate. We made yellow owls with pink accents (pictured below), and pink owls with yellow accents. The chocolate mold was about $3, the strawberry and lemon flavored chocolate were $6/bag, and we lightened the color with white chocolate, which was $2/bag. (And each bag was 14oz, so, totaling 42oz)

Oh thank you all so much for your suggestions (and pictures)!!! They really are great. I like the idea of little thank you notes too and smelly girly stuff and candles are also winning ideas :) gonna go hassle my mum about it now as she's hosting!!! Lol!! Thanks again!!

I just bought (from Ebay - soap inc.) some pink/blue/yellow organza favour bags with scented teddy soaps inside. They smelt delicious when I opened them and werent expensive as they are miniature soaps. Around £3.00 for 10. Highly recommended for sure! I have attached personalised tags to them too x
