Hello! We are 26 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and we woudl like to name her Viella. We are originally from Europe but now live in teh US and therefore we wanted to check whether anyone knows of a bad association, brand name, weird translation etc. before we give her that name.
thanks mojo

It would also be great to know whether someone heard of the name before and what people think when they hear it. thanks mojo

The only products that sprang to mind was VIELLE female lubricant and stimulator finger!

VIYELLA clothing.....

and VIELLA magazine (france)

I haven't heard the name before honey, not sure what i think of it tbh!

I don't hate it... just not sure that I really like it, but I think if you ad DH agree, you should go for it! Always nice to hear new names and nice to incorporate your roots. I also like
Vivia
Verona
Veda

Same here. I agree it is nice to incorporate your roots in the name of your child, and if you love it then you should use it :)

Hmm I think she might get called 'vile' a lot.. obviously not good.
And potentially 'villy' which could easily become 'willy'... also not good.

violet would also have the 'vile' issue but because its a well known flower it can negate that a bit and its a well known name anyway so its not so easy to make fun of.

Sorry I always think of these things...

I like the name Viella, i think it's pretty, unique, & feminine! (other variations: Vienna, Vivika, Vivian)

This is what i found on an online dictionary site:

Viella may refer to:

Viella, Hautes-Pyrénées, France
Viella, Gers, France
Viella, the Italian name for the bowed string instrument Vielle

Viyella was a textile (wool and cotton blend), now a clothing and textiles brand

I'm not sure...
How about Vienna?
But you know, it's your baby and your choice. You shouldn't just pick a common name to please people. :)

I really like it! It's very femine and unique.

And it shortens well to either Vi or Ella (if you wanted her to have a nickname!)

Ooh, never heard it before, but I really like it :)

Love it. Different and has a air of elegance about it. Plus also you will not have 4 in the same class, or even in the same school.

Love it - go for it.
