I love the name Amy but hubby really doesn't.
Which names can be shortened to Amy?
I'm hoping I can find one we both like and then compromise!

Thanks x

Amelia, Amelie, not sure.

Hmmm I'm not sure there are any really. Would he see it differently with a different spelling, like Aimee. Not to my taste but might help to sway him. Or a double name? Again I'm not keen on that, but I know an Amy-Rose which I think is quite nice.

I also would agree with your OH - not a fan. I know a million Amy's - all my age (mid 30s) - so to me it's a bit dated.

I would say Amelia can be shortened to Amy, though, as already suggested.

Amelia, Aminta, Amelie, Jamie
I went to school with a Samantha who was shortened to Amy, I'm not sure if that's usual?

I think Amy is a name in it's own right rather than an abbreviation?

I have a friend who has an Amy-Leigh and although she always gets her full title you could maybe double barrel and then use just Amy?

Don't keen on double barreled names. Thanks any way.

Back to the drawing board.
