Glucose meter

I haven't seen my Dr yet and I have to have a 4 hour glucose test next week but there is a problem with my 1 hour glucose test he didn't say yet exactly what's wrong but I have to eat low carb low sugar till then

If you have GD;

Do you all have to use a glucose meter thingy to prick your finger and check glucose?
Is it now a high risk pregnancy?

I think they usually wait for the longer test (usually 3 hour) to diagnose anything. If it is GD then it's higher risk.
