So I am 2 days into week 13 and since I found out I was pregnant, I have not been able to get more than 3-4 hours of solid sleep a night. I am definitely tired, especially since having an almost 2 1/2 year old daughter, going to school full-time and then working on top of that. I usually go to bed around 11 pm or so, and around 2am or 3 am, I am fully awake and am tossing and turning for the rest of the night. Can someone please help me get some sleep!

This is how I was when I was with my son. Unfortunately nothing helped for me. I ended up taking early maternity leave and in desperation went to see my doctor who just offered anti depressants. I really was against that and it kind of shocked me into sleeping again!

I also found when I stopped putting pressure on myself it helped a little too.

This pregnancy isn't as bad but my sleeping could be a hell of a lot better. For example I've been awake since 4am and I have a ten hour shift ahead of me!! Not sure I'll manage the whole day though :(

Have you tried vigorous exercise? It sounds like you're doing SO much already but maybe your level of stress is high with that much to juggle. On the days that I work out for an hour at noon (mixed cardio & weights) I'm in bed before 10 and asleep till 7am straight. Hope you're able to get some zzzz's soon xx

I've had the same problem my whole pregnancy. I've just adjusted to it now. I'm usually awake from 3/4am, m lucky if I go back off!

I wouldn't recommend starting up a vigorous exercise regime. It's fine if you were doing it before but not recommended to start during pregnancy.

I walk at least 10,000 steps per day and go swimming too. Both those have been approved by my consultant/midwife  Maybe that's why I'm sleeping better this pregnancy cos in my insomnia pregnancy I was pretty much sedentary

My OB told me to take Benadryl 25mg at bedtime. That helps me sleep!

I'm 24 weeks now and don't think I have had a decent night sleep since 15 weeks, it's either I have to pee or my back, sides hurt or I just wake up and can't get comfy.. I sometimes get so irritated as I'm so tired but can't sleep but I know this is not good for the baby so try and relax
I go into work sometimes and I could fall asleep on my desk

I tried quite a few things but nothing seems to work for me but all I keep thinking this will be worth it in the end :)

I struggled with sleep in my 1st trimester. Now I fall asleep easily but am up 2-3 times to use the bathroom. I would take benadryl every now and then when I couldn't sleep but it makes me feel so drowsy in the morning. I found that I sleep best when I stick to the same nightly routine. It tells your brain that it is time to settle down.

I had pregnancy insomnia with my first, hardly ever slept.
This time around I'm out like a light, funny how different they can be.

Well by vigorous I meant working up at least a bit of a sweat, she sounds really active as it is with prob much walking activities and I'm sure this lady's smart enough to stay within a comfortable range with whatever she's doing. But sometimes working up a sweat helps the body relax at night, she's definitely not a sedentary type from the sounds of it, but glad that getting some exercise has helped you sleep better too.

I listen to a yoga nidra youtube thing for pregnancy before bed. It talks you through relaxing your body and it really helps me sleep. Also keep the electronics and screens off for an hour before bed is supposed to help. And I agree that exercise is key also. Just make sure you do it a least a few hours before you want to wind down. Good luck!

I know what ya meant :) But as of right now, I'm lucky if I can fit in homework and 10 minutes to relax. I found that pomegranate tea with honey helps a little bit, but going to talk to my midwife, and possibly start taking melatonin.
