I'm 38weeks & 2 days with a healthy boy. This is my 5th pregnancy but first baby. I have gestational diabetes and with all the problems we've had in the past my dr is on the road to success no exceptions. =)
Yesterday I has u/s and the baby is 8lbs & 6oz almost 9lbs. So we are doing a C-section. Anyone with stories or advice or just could tell me really what to expect as far as going in to prep, the procedure, or recovery I'd be grateful to hear about it. Thank you!

well i had an emergency c-section so i couldnt tell you about getting prepared for it lol, although i can say that its very painful afterwards, needed help getting on and off of the hospital bed lol... i lost a lot of blood during it so had to take anemia pills afterwards, the pain gets easier every day! your belly will be very numb and sensitive afterwards my baby is 9months old and i still dont let my partner or even myself touch that area because its so sensitive lol, but as long as baby comes out healthy thats all that matters:) x

You'll be ok hopefully. I have had 3 emergancy c-sections. Once they hand you that baby you'll forget your being operated on. They'll give you your baby within 10 minutes of starting the c-section. I had a spinal block with all my c-sections. my husband was told to come in after I had the spinal. Whilst they gave me the spinal, he got dressed into some scrubs due to theatre being very sterile. After I had the baby's they took me back on to the ward, i couldn't get up on my first day, it was always the next morning. But I do remember after you have that first shower you will notice alot of improvement in yourself. Day by day, you will notice improvement. You will be amazed how much improvement you have from day to day. Try not to worry hun. I know I will be worried as well when the time comes. I am due for my 4th section. Once you see that baby you will know yourself that everything was worth it. Best of luck for tomorrow hun, I can understand how you feel. Take care, Just think by tomorrow you will be a proud mummy to a little baby xxx

Thank you so much for your stories...I'm not nervous at all. Might sound weird but in the past week my stomach has been in knots and I've been dealing with nerves but the second the dr and I decided on the csection I've felt great. And Im not nervous at all. I guess that might sound weird bc most people are like "it's a bad choice" , "it's major surgery" , etc. but I'm just so sure of this decision now.
I just can't believe tmrw I will finally have a beautiful baby boy in my arms. We've been waiting for so long for this to happen.

You must be having your surgery right now! Good luck!
I had a planned csection and it went great. The recovery was very quick.
The spinal was a bit scary but that's it.

Please update us with your birth story =)

Hope you are ok, thinking about you today, please let us know how your surgery went x

Surgery went great! We had a beautiful healthy baby boy! June 4th at 12:11pm Bentley Eugene came into this world. He is 9lbs 7oz 21inches long. Just as perfect as could be! I'll post more details along with a photo later. =) thank you all so much for your replies! We couldn't be happier!
