How long did the transition take you?

Ive started putting Brooke in her moses basket inside her cot for her daytime naps to get her used to the surroundings but dont really know how long i should carry that on for?

Also she''ll still be in my room for the next few nights, do you think its going to confuse her?

Help!!

I moved jacob in, just straight away  and he was fine (but we did co-sleep until 4.5months! :dohh:) as for own room im moving him the day he hits 6months :) XxX

i just put harry straight from moses basket, into his cot in our room, and he was fine. Going in his own room in a few weeks, oh wants him to go now but i will miss him being in the same room!

I put tyler in his cot in his own room for the first time about 2 weeks ago, hes been in there ever since and have had no problems at all, he actually sleeps better. xx

I put ell ain when she was around 5-6 months , no problem! She will be fine im sure :)

Robyn has been in her own room since 2 wks old, i just moved her straight probably didnt notice anyway!
Personally i would just swap straight out, and see how you get on.

Thanks girls, see i dont have room for the cot in my bedroom otherwise id bring it in so its just straight into the cot into her own room.

I'll perhaps keep the moses basket thing up for a few days and see how she goes :)

Hiya, I moved Patrick into his cot in his moses basket for a week then into his cot....he sleeps through now!! Best thing i ever did!

I just put sam in his cot straight away n he was fine hun x
am sure brooke will be too x

I moved Lola straight away, without the adjustment period and the transition was very difficult. It took her about a week of non-sleeping until she finally got used to being in her own room.

it didn't take maddi long, she was already taking day time naps in her own room in her cot since around 4months, i then just done a couple of nights of her moses basket in her cot, then moved her straight to the big cot, she was fine honey, i'm sure brooke will be too :)

i moved elliot into his cot,in his room straight away one night and he wasn't even bothered! lol.

I moved courtney when she was 3 and a half months and it worked so so well!! I just did it :) Weve only had a handful of rough nights.. but she comes in my bed and OH goes on sofa

Well shes in her moses basket in her cot as we speak, im going to try leaving her in there tonight and see how we go!! Eeeek!!

good luck sweetie let us know how it goes...!!

I bet you have a FAB night sleep :):)

My lo is still in my room!!
Her room has been ready since she was born but weare finding it so hard to put her in there... :(

Jasper barely noticed the transition, and also it was pretty hot here around summer (in Australia) so the cot having the open sides is cooler and breezier than the bassinet, so in some ways I think he preferred it.

Honestly, the transition was harder on my OH and I than it was on Jasper - for a while my OH was picking sleeping Jasper out of his cot and putting him into the bassinet because he didn't like Jasper sleeping that far away from us! (literally, draw a line from his cot in his own room to our bed, its only about 4 meters, as its directly across the hallway with open doors!)

My OH s such a protective daddy!

i just put annabelle in her cot straight from her moses basket, she started not liking to be in her moses basket so i put her in her cot, she slept through within about 2 nights

Austin went in his own room in his cot at 4 weeks from being in our room in moses basket, the thought of moses basket in cot was something i originally wanted to do but you cant use the movement monitor pads in a moses basket, need a flat solid surface, so straight in cot and slept better and i could stay in my room with one eye on monitor ticking side to side letting me know he was ok.

How did it go, hun?

We put Claire in her crib in the beginning of the month. It was definitely harder on me than it was on her. I had been putting her up in her crib for naps a few days before hand just so she'd be familiar with where she was and wouldn't be frightened when she woke up.

So far, so good. Although I do miss having my little pumpkin in our room. :(
