Going mad :(

Hi all,

I was on the pill for 7 years and, came off a few months ago so that we could ttc. I am currently 8 days late. I took a pregnancy test when i was 5 days late but it was negative.

Does anyone have any ideas what's going on, its driving me crazy

Hey it could be that your body is still settling down and that you cycles are not regular yet or it could be that you are pregnant but the hormone wasn't strong enough when you tested, our bodies are funny things, my first period after my coil removal took 8 weeks to arrive when i normally used to get mine every 5 weeks, i ended up testing too as i thought i may be pregnant and it was negative.

Since i came off my pills i have been regular until this time. I was told by someone i know that it depends on when you conceived in your cycle as to when there would be enough HCG to show up on a test.

The thing is i have been really bloated the past week ish and have pain in my lower back; i dont normally have any of this even around my period. I also has some spotting around 5 days before my period which lasted 2 days - thats the only reason really i decided to test but i thought i had left it long enough

Hey babe, don't worry! As others said, it takes your body a bit of time to get used to not being on the pill! But this doesn't mean it will take you longer to conceive. A friend of mine stopped her pill and got pregnant in the first month! It seem to me that how long it takes is quite random! Good luck with a speedy BFP!

I have a nurses appointment anyway to check my blood pressure, i am thinking of mentioning it to her as i will be 9 days late then?

its always worth mentioning huni - I had the implant and was regular for a while then i was nearly a month late and then they regulated themselves again! Our bodies do strange things when they want to!

I've just come back from seeing the nurse and she says that i have to wait until Tuesday 17th and then test again Anyone else stuck in the same limbo? xx

yes hun they don't usually do anything until you're over 2 weeks late in case you had a late ovulation and conceived. It must be so annoying for you, I hope you find out soon

Hi! I was on the pill 2 1/2 years and went off it last september 10'. I only had one period right after that and then 6 months of no periods! My gyn said it is normal for it to take a while to get your cycles back to normal. Especially for you being on it that many years. She said you just shouldn't go over 6months w/out a period. Hope your cycles get back to normal soon!
