Going out feeds??

Question to you lovely ladies who already have had your LO's, what do you do about going out and feeds?? Do make up the bottles and use an insulated bag to keep them warm or do you put the boiled water in, use an insulated bag and take the milk powder in pots and make them up when you're out? Or what?? Or those of you that express from the breast for feeds do you have to heat it or just keep it the temp it came out by using an insulated bag?

I'm so confused about all this feeding stuff even the feeding at home stuff, I'm planning on trying to breast feed but don't know if I could do it out in public..........God can't believe I'll be having to do this in 5 weeks or maybe even less.

I get the little cartons of SMA and take an empty clean bottle. If he get's hungry I just pour it in and he is fine

Room temp ready made or a bottle with a dispenser of powder then at first I asked at resturants etc for jug of hot water then found the fisher-price flasks:

We either take cartons of ready made formula with sterilised bottles, or bottles containing cooled boiled water & powder measured into dispensers, mix then warm up using boiling water from the fisher price flask Wobbles mentioned which is a Godsend
You can also use the flask to keep warm (previously boiled & cooled) water in & mix the powder in with that instead.

I'm breastfeeding, couldn't express though!

in the beginning it was a little bit difficult for me to feed in public, when LO and me where not trained but now, I don't have any problem anymore with feeding in public! I do it everywhere, where she gets hungry, on the bus, on the train, on the tube, in the cafe, in the restaurant...

and I found out something very convient, if there is nothing else around, just pop into a clothes shop and pretend you want to try sth

I make mine up before I go out and have them refridgerated and then in an insulated bag but if I'm out all day I take an empty bottle an a carton.

I express my milk into bottles and when we go out I take one of the flasks wobbles mentioned further up to heat the milk up at feeding time

I express milk into bottles and keep it in a cooler in my diaper bag. My little guy has been great about drinking my expressed milk cold, he could care less.

I bring clean bottles and bring a can of ready to drink formula. No need to heat it up since Josh LOVES room temp milk.

Its a lot easier to breastfeed in public than you think, most places we go have a feeding room or a chair in the changing room. If theres nothing we usually go to a cafe and find a quiet corner with my back to everyone!

Seriously though, the only problem I have with breastfeeding in public is my DH. I tend to keep it in the car when I'm with him!
You can buy nursing capes if you want to cover up

My OH is the same. I wouldn't mind so much but he's convinced that blokes are going to look at me when Im doing it lol.

I buy Cow and Gate cartons and just take a sterilized bottle out with me

Hmm I'm still a bit unsure about breast feeding whilst out but I guess when he gets here it might be all different. Thanks for all your advice girls. xx
