Going to TTC 2 months post-partum.. anyone else?

Or am I the only one crazy enough to try this? lol Or has anyone done it before? This is my first and DH & I really want our LO's to be close in age. Figured we'd start trying asap as it took 1 1/2 years to conceive and stay pregnant

If I didnt have 2 years left of school, I think I would stay off my pill for good and have as many kids as we could!!

My friends kids are 11 months apart, they play together all the time! They are a handful but all kids are. The up side is that you never really get out of a phase, and once it's done it's done. Whereas if ur kids are 4 years apart, you do everything allllll over again!! everyone tells me that once you have a baby it's easier to get pregnant.

Just an FYI on the timings you mentioned - I know a lot of people who had a long time ttc #1 but then ttc #2 really quickly. I don't want to get your hopes up in case that doesn't happen, however if you're not actually ready but starting because it'll take a year or more don't be surprised if its quicker.

Yes, we're doing this too. It took us over 2 years to conceive this LO, I had to go through an operation and a miscarriage in that time, so it just seems somehow wrong to prevent pregnancy now.

I had a chat with my consultant about it and he too agrees that we should go for it. He said if we leave it a couple of years I may have to go through the operation again which I want to prevent if possible.

Thats what we did after we had our first. I was pregnant again 4.5 months PP. My girls are 12 months 8 days apart. I love having my girls so close in age. They are both wonderful and Ava is great with her little sister. So no you are not alone and not crazy.

If you are crazy so am I! We are going to not prevent anything from happening, and I would love to be pregnant around the 1 year mark.

Not me, but my Mom did this. My parents wanted kids right after another. They werent really trying trying, but not preventing and hoping to get pregnant.
My Mom got pregnant with me when my sister was 7 months old, then she got pregnant with my younger sister when I was 5 months old. She waited 1.5 years before trying for her 4th. 3 girls under 3 must've been hard! My brother came 2 yrs 3 months after my sister.

I think it's great!!! I always wished I had siblings closer in age to me. (Two brothers - one is 2 years older, one is 4 years younger...no sisters ).

A funny story for you - my granddad married my grandma only because she was told she could never have kids. She honestly was told she could never conceive, and he didn't want kids! She went on to have SEVEN, yes SEVEN, GIRLS!!! No boys! My poor grandfather! (Don't worry, he loved his girls!).

I come from a big Catholic family and their mantra is no birth control. Whatever God gave them was a gift.

On a side note, my grandfather just always joked to my grandma that he "didn't want a bunch of brats anyway" before they got married, lol. I guess it was his sad attempt at humor to make her feel better about "not being able to" have kids. He even went out on a date with her room mate! He saw my grandma, and it was instant love! God bless them both!

I think your a little crazy But im not on birth control either and my husband just got home from deployment a week ago. Im actually terrified to get pregnant again. But like someone said earlier we tried for over 2 years to get pregnant and we had to take clomid for the fourth time to get pregnant with our son so I feel using anything to stop pregnancy is kind of wrong. I feel weird cause I love my son sooo much I worry if we did have anymore would I love them as much as him. Im sure I would its just a fear. Plus I LOATHED breast feeding, labor was horrible and Im getting in such good shape I feel vain for thinking id have to do this all over again to lose weight. On the plus side though I love being a mom, I loved the attention while pregnant, I REALLY want a girl and having a brother 7 years older than me and a sister 14 years older then me I felt like an only child growing up and dont really want my son to feel like that. So I guess if it happens it happens! Good luck to you!
