Gonal-F injectable pen, 300IU, $1300 for 5 pens for 1 cycle! :-(

Just found out what my injectable medication is gonna cost me out of pocket, $1,300! That is for the Gonal-F injectable pen, 300IU, for 5 pens, and this is only for 1 cycle! This is SO depressing, and I may need to go through several cycles of this with IUI. I just feel so sad right now. Any encouragement is greatly appreciated.

OMG I'm sorry hun!! Thats horrible!! Are you going to be able to try out one cycle or is that out of range?? I hate that drug companies are getting RICH off of other peoples pain!

I don't even know what to say to make you smile or try to help! I just wanted to say I totally understand where you are coming from! My insurance won't cover anything fertility related so I just haven't been able to do much!!

I'm sorry. It's really ridiculous how much drugs cost! My prog is $260 for one cycle, still a drop in the bucket compared to $1300.

This is why if we are told to try IUI, we will probably decide instead if IVF is worth it and just go for that.. or give up.

I hope you nail it in one shot with IUI!
