Gosh darn it! When did your period return?

My lochia finally went away two days ago. Then this morning I wake up and I'm pretty sure myperiod has started. How annoying!! It's not spotting anymore and is red.
When did you ladies get your period again? I was under the impression to not expect it until at least 10 pp, or longer since I'm ebf I'm super bummed right now. Almost 5 weeks post birth now and I've only had two days of no bleeding

I had a short period when he was about 1.5 months old, and not another one until he was six months old. Depressing, isn't it? The great lie of being free of periods through pregnancy and nursing lol.

Mine came back at exactly 8 weeks pp. ( I even ebf)

Quite depressing, isn't it? I was hoping that it may just be left over lochia but alas it's awful Aunt Flo My period symptoms have changed as well? I have an terrible headache and I'm extra moody. I was never like this before I got pregnant.

It might not be your period, the lochia can start and stop, especially at about 6 weeks pp. I had that with both of mine.

I bet it's still lochia. I had the same thing happen with my kids . I didn't get actual periods until 9 months PP.

With DD1 I got my first period at 8 wks pp. this time I was 10 wks pp xx

I bet it's still lochia. It can come and go and change colour. Mine had petered out by five weeks pp but then it returned (bright red) for a few days the following week. Then nothing for two weeks and at 8 weeks pp had a bit of bright red bleeding. I thought it was my period but it was gone after 24 hrs. Nothing since and I'm 12 weeks pp tomorrow. Here's the funny thing: I am exclusively FORMULA feeding. I can't bf so this baby hasn't had one second of suckling. With my first baby I had to ff as well and was told my period would return around 6 weeks pp. I didn't get it till I was four months pp. So just goes to show that we're all as different pp as we are when pregnant!

One word of warning: your first period pp is generally heavier and more painful than usual. Nothing like labour but more crampy and more blood than normal. Also, after having a baby your periods can in fact change. Mine unfortunately became shorter but heavier. :/

All that to say, bf or ff, it's all a crap shoot. Sorry!
