got some questions can any1 help

ok so i spoke with my manager 2day about coming back 2 work (due back in march) i am a assistant manager in a retail store i told my boss on the phone i wanted to cut my 30 hrs contract down to 16 and do it over 2days she told me they wouldnt go for it BUT if i took a step down and just worked as a sales assistnat i would have more of a chance of getting the 2days 2gether instead of 16 hrs over 4 days (i dont live close 2 my work) i dont no where that leaves me money wise the wage would be £6.16 my OH is on incapsity and we r in a council house
i dont have a clue about the tax credits ect or how they r worked out
if any1 can offer any advice id be very greatfull

There is a benefits calculator at entitledto.co.uk which would be worth looking at. Usually you only qualify for tax credits (from April 2012) if you work more than 24 hours between you, but with your OH on incapacity it may be different for you.

just keep in mind that what the website entitledto.com says now will change in april. at the moment you get extra help if you work over 16 hours but from april is till be 24 hours. your better of ringing job centre or citizens advise and asking as they will have the info for april x

i phoned the the advice works today going down on monday to talk with them xx
