Government bans certain sex acts being filmed in porn

Also I have a 2 year old who can work youtube on the iPad better than I can, I'm sure a teenager can work out how to use a proxy to look at porn if they want to

It's totally pointless

There are doing it basically to stop children looking at porn

I have wider concerns about cernorsing the Internet, what if this is just the start and then news websites start getting blocked for example

I am a adult I don't need nannying from the government about taking care of my kids on line

Does this actually help though? What's the opt out process? And if an adult opts out, is their internet then just the same as if they'd never put the filter in place or do you have to set up a password to put in to get past the filter?
I can see 1000 ways they could do this wrong and it would be completely ineffective.
But to be fair, there are lots of ways the government puts road blocks in place to prevent the breaking of laws (and an underage person looking at porn is illegal, right?). There just hasn't been as much occasion or capability to do that regarding the internet yet. I completely understand that it feels very different, because use of the internet is generally something that happens in your home, in your private space. And no, you likely don't need nannying to protect your children. But many do, and as long as the filters are effective for lots of those children, aren't those children worth protecting?
I think an effective opt-in program for porn is very different from the censoring that goes on in other countries. I'm not sure that kind of slippery slope can be applied in regards to the filter, but I don't agree with banning the filming and distribution of legal sexual behaviors.

The banning of some of those acts is insane. As others have said, if it's legal to be done in your own home then two consenting porn actors should be allowed to do it on screen.

I believe to opt out of the porn filter, you are required to contact your internet provider (Virgin, Sky, BT) and request the filter to be removed. But as Mommyjogger has pointed out, I'm not sure what happens after that, is a password required etc?

There ways and means around it. It is very easy to set up a proxy and have banned websites unlocked anyway. All of the torrent websites are banned and cannot be accessed (UK, not sure about other countries) but a simple proxy enables the user to bypass all of this.
