Ive previously had 6 rounds of clomid prescribed first 3 months from fertility clinic and further 3 months from gp. Ive since had my daughter but ive been trying again for a year, i saw fertility specialist 6 months ago who said to give it another 6 months and then see gp to start clomid. I saw my gp yesterday whos referred me back to the hospital saying she cant prescribe it unless authorised by specialist even though theres a letter on my notes explaining the specialist wants me to start clomid! Ive got to wait until end of may for my appointment now! To top things off ive started my period today, theyre few and far between so it would have been a perfect opportunity. Is it worth ringing my doctors tomorrow to speak to another doctor?

Sometimes medical systems and protocols can be so unhelpful and frustrating!!! 
Maybe you could email the clinic asking to pass an message to your specialist explaining the situation and requesting the prescription prior to your next appointment?
