gp unhelpful!

Yesterday i woke up with a sticky eye. Went to chemist and she gave me some drops. After 24 hours it was worse so i made an emergenct appt at my surgery.

Got there and had to wait over an hour past my appt time. I was in her office for about 2 minutes. She ummed and ahhed and said what did i want her to do about it?? She told me maybe i should go to a&e and maybe they could help me!

I thought gp is what you are meant to do and not go to a&e!

I have a case of conjuntivitus (sp?) and instead of perscribing me something shes told me to go to a&e. Im 99% sure a&e will give me the speech about how i should use my gp and not a&e for something like this.

Omg that is SHOCKING. Awful way to treat a patient.

That's awful complain to the practice manager my go would have given a prescription over the phone for that

I'd complain. GPs are meant to prescribe things for conjunctivitis

the surgery called me up and said they had a referral letter for me to go to the specialist eye hospital here in London. I still had to go to A&E and wait 5 hours but I found out I have an extreme case on conjuntivitus and I have been given antibiotics for 4 weeks! Doctor said if it was this bad after 2 days had I waited a few more days it could have partially or completely blinded me in that eye. No idea where I caught it from!
