Just thought it might be fun to share any names you like, but are off limits for you for any reason (ie. already one in the family, clashes with your surname etc...)

We have vetoed all J names, but I like all of the below Js! :)

Girls:
Juliet
Jana
Johanna

Boys:
Jude
Johan
Jacob

Olivia: we have a nephew named Oliver
Della: we aren't having D names

Basically anything that is super girly. My husband hates them all..
Bella, Liliana, Sophia, Juliette, Violet

PS We absolutely ADORE Jude. It's one of our top names

Sophie- my sister's name and we're not close enough to do the naming after each other thing.

Thea- OH hates it.

Vesper- Everyone else hates it!

Oh my goodness. So many names are off-limits. My dh is a teacher.
First of all, ALL NAMES THAT START WITH J... (Sounds like we have something in common ;)) Haha rules out a few. Hmm there's so many names that he has said that we absolutely cannot have!

Here are some others that I like and he hates just because he doesn't like them:

Girls...
Minka (I love it. But he was thinking of nick names and came up with Minka the Stinker... Boo!!)
Misty
Luna
Winter
Lilka

And boys...
Chance
Remi
Grayson
Jude

I love all of those names and he does not. Sad!

I'm not preggo yet but we've already discussed names. Two names I really like a well known celebrity kid names: Willow and Blue

I'm hoping we get knocked up before any of my other fav names get used lol

Because my family aren't native english speakers there are loads of names that they can't pronounce.

-Isabelle
-Madeleine
-Eliza
-Juliet
-Scarlet
-Elle

There are more but those are just a few that come to mind. Boy's names for some reason they find easier to pronounce.

Luna (cant shift the tic assc)
Persephone (would always be said wrong)
Jaquetta

Any names ending in ly, Lee or ley etc because of our surname 😠, such as Molly holly, Finley, Everly, or any names that are too 'L' heavy.

Other names that are classed as "too posh" for us (by dh) are Theodore, Theodora, raphaella, Lilliana

So many names off limits for us because of surname :nope:

Any names that end with N or have too many L's sound awful, so nothing like:
Mikaelyn
Rhielyn/Rylan
Emerson
Celia

Also, names that he doesn't like but I love:
Xavier
Edwin
Felicity (would also clash with surname though)

:coffee: We are just waiting to get a sticky bean, then we can have fun worrying about names :haha:

There are names I love but can't use as they are family names:
Audrey
Amelie
Martha
Madeline
Louis (BIL is named Lewis so a bit too close)
Robin (I like it for a girl, it is my brothers name)

Anything that ends in -son as our surname is a -son name. Also a lot of boy athletes have our surname.

I love Nathanial / Nathan but it doesn't work, same as Noah.

Girls are much easier but I'm not a fan of old lady names and anything in the top 20.

Lucy and Alice are both names I love but are already in my family.

Casper is my all time favourite boys name, but OH can't get past the friendly ghost :(

Also Lucas, OH says it makes him think of George Lucas :/

Joseph and Rosie.

I have a cousin named Joseph. Our surname clashes with Rosie :-(

Interesting to hear all of these :) funny how you can love a name, but it just isn't going to work!

Eric, Vincent, Helen, Marcus (all relative's names).

Anything biblical or religious.

I forgot one! Christian has been a long time favourite for me but my dh's surname is Paine. Christian Paine :( or Max Paine

Our last name and possible middle name have an R inside, so we decided the first name can't name any R's or it would sound a bit threatening :))

Joshua, James and Michael are my favourite boys name but they have associations with people either myself or OH don't like.

Joshua is the name of my first proper boyfriend and we were engaged as teenagers so my OH can't stand it!

JoAnna (love the name but it makes me think of this horrid girl that tormented me in Jr High :()
Anything that sounds close to Kayla (crazy ex of DHs)
Any name that has "Licia" in it, Felicia, Aleesha, etc. (my biological moms name)

We've decided on MaryEllen for a Middle (Dh's grandma) so anything that has Ellen, Lyn or similar don't really work, IE Helen Maryellen or Evelyn Maryellen

My family stole a lot of names that I love (not intentionally lol):
Noah, Giovanni, Cecilia, Audrey, Lillie :nope: all in the family lol
