Long story short, I've had a complicated pregnancy. Been having growth scans. At 22 weeks, baby weighed 15 oz. At 26 + weighed 2 lbs. 5 oz.
Today, at 29 + baby weighs 2lbs 13 oz, so almost 3 pounds.
Doctor is not worried about IUGR as baby is not small, but at 26 weeks he was in the 60% and this time in the 40%. If next scan, at 32 weeks, he goes down to the 20% then I will deliver that week!!!

anyone else have this?

Hey!

My baby had IUGR and I went for a scan every 2 weeks and then every 1 week. All I can say be positive and all is going to go well. As song as they keep an eye on it then even you have to deliver early at least baby will be safe!

Every week counts now so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you won't need to have your baby yet! Let me know if you have any questions!

i was induced at 36 weeks with my first but she was considered IUGR but i do remember them mentioning that the her head size was in the 40% and her body lower 20%. I assumed they were referring to the growth charts and comparing her to the average. Sorry thats not very clear. But once discovered they started induction the next day. My daughter was small but perfect, its good they're keeping a close eye on you. Hope all goes well if they do decide to induce you x

Thanks! I go tomorrow for a biophysical ultrasound and have my growth scan in two weeks. My other kids were early, so I guess this one just might be too.
How are you kids now?

Hi!! I was just wondering what is causing your babys Growth restriction, I found out my baby has a 2 vessel cord, and they told me that can cause growth restriction, I found that out at 17 weeks, and starting tomorrow at 28 weeks I will be going for regular growth scans as well, let me know how things are going for you, I will keep you updated as well!!

The cord is okay in my case, but it's off to the side of the placenta. The cord usually and should insert in the middle of the placenta. . .mine if off to the side. . .so all the nutrients that should just go straight to the baby, go off to the side and then to the baby. I go weekly for biophysical ultrasounds, where they check the baby's breath, movement, heart rate, etc. And then in two weeks I'll go for another growth ultrasound. My baby is not 'small' as in IUGR, b/c he is growing. He is almost 3 pounds at 29 weeks, which I considered normal. But, he was growing each time at 60% and the last growth ultrasound, he was in the 40th%. If at the next ultrasound the growth is at 20%, then they will give me steriod shots and have me have him the next day!
GOod luck with you!!

My daughter was IUGR. She was born at 38 weeks and weighed 4lbs 13 oz. I tested + for trisomy 18 at a test done around 13 weeks (i think) Turned out she didn't have that but they said that test could show that i will have problems later on with growth so they planned a growth scan at 32 weeks.

At 32 weeks she measured 2 weeks behind in growth so at 34 weeks they did another and she was 6 weeks behind in growth. She weighed approx 4lbs at 34 weeks. They put me on bedrest and she only gained 13 oz. I was due to see the high risk dr the next day to talk about being induced but my water broke on its own. I ended up with emergency c-section. Anyways she was tiny but healthy. No breathing problems or anything. Did have lots of problems with BFing due to her being so small all she wanted to do was sleep and I had to wake her to feed her.

but now shes 2 yrs old. Weighs 32 lbs and is 3 feet tall (daddy is 6;6") You would never know she was that tiny when she was born.

I smoked while pg and had one dr tell me thats why she stopped growing and another dr tell me that had nothing to do with it. My placenta looked fine during the pg and in the exam after birth so they really dont know why she stopped growing.

I am now 28 weeks pg and baby looks fine for now but they will do a growth scan at 32-34 weeks just to be sure. My daughter looked like she was growing just fine until the 32 week u/s so who knows how this baby will turn out.

Best of luck to you!!!

My little lady will be 3 in december but is still a dot (wears 18-24month clothes) the doctors did say she could be playing catch up till she gets to school. I've noticed a few ladies have mentioned what caused the growth problems but i was never given an explanation they checked the ambilical cord and placenta but all was fine???
Keep us updated x
