guaifenesin- does it really work?? Any success stories???

I am a LTTTC'er, had the ops the meds etc, just when I thought I knoew alot it turns out I dont I read about Robitussin agesssss ago when I first started ttc a few years back...

Anyhow I thought I would try it later if I still hadn't got my and I still haven't

So, I wanted to know a little more- I know that it helps give you more fertile ewcm etc...
BUT...
*Are there any success stories out there, to give me hope in trying it???

*Did you notice more ewcm???

*When did you start taking it???

*How much did you take???

I am currently on my first injectable cycle, so, I have been ok with cm so far,I have another scan on friday, I am not ready to ovulate yet my follicle is only 10mm so wondering if I would be ok starting tomorrow??? I think I am going to give it a go

what i know is you take it 2-3 days before ov and 3 times a day
i used it last time and i had loads of ewcm

Thanks for the reply its my first injectable cycle so I won't know when I am due to o this cycle I have another scan Friday, can you take it longer than 3 days???

I've taken it with both my pregnancies now. The first wasn't intentional and likely the only reason I conceived then. I happened to catch a cold and was taking it because I was so congested at the time. I started taking it the 2nd month of TTC our second and became pregnant on the 3rd month. I also had DH take it. I start taking it about 5 days before expected ovulation and continue for a few days (same for DH). I take it twice a day. DH took it 3 times a day last time.

I've read (and have done this) taking 600mg a day. You can take it in pill form or the liquid. I took it four days before ovulation up til a day after. I did notice a difference. I didn't get preg but that was my first time trying it.

Amjon- thanks for your reply, I don't know if I want to tell oh why I'm taking it but he's complaining about a bad throat so I can prob get it down him this cycle to be honest he takes sooo much and I've taken sooo much I will prob tell him why... What does it do for men???

I have never heard of it doing something for men
I mean if it thins out **** thn why do we it like tht ?
Not saying it shouldn't but want to know y

I used cough medicine and grapefruit juice for about 6 months and saw a tiny increase in ewcm. What worked for me was a couple of cups of green tea a day...i got loads and got pregnant the first month i drank it

I will have to try the green tea aswell, I don't think I hae a problem with EWCM I just want to make sure it's right for the spermies

If you dont have an ewcm issue, i personally wouldnt bother taking medicine and stick to grapefruit and green tea. Even though the medicine is safe, there's no point taking unnecessary medication. I did have an ewcm problem so took everything i could get my little hands on.

I do plan on taking it again! I also switched to geritol for my vitamin and am going to try preseed as well. Good luck to you!!

NatoPMT- I know a few ladies on here who get EWCM but took it and they got pregnant even though I get if I'm not sure if it's the right sort still as I take meds and clomid I had none and this being my first injectable cycle I want to take it just incase

Dvm- please keep me updated on how you get on I too have conceive plus might use that aswell I hear a lot about geritol I might try it soon...

It thins the semen, so the sperm can move easier (same as us).

I conceived the first month using robitussin
I never have ewcm, but it made my mucous way more watery... The baby's dad (we've since separated) loved it, no need for lubes
I started taking it at cd5, took it up until the day after possible ov day
I took one cap (the medicine cup thing that comes with it) twice a day with 16oz of water to chase it from cd 5 to I think cd 10, then I took it 3 times a day cd10 to day after ov.

Great news congratulations! I've got some but not tracking ovulation this month so not a good idea I take it incase I take it after o.
