Ok, so I went to bed, but had to come on here and write this 'cos it was bugging me and I can't sleep..

Ryan's dad - I'll type J from now on 'cos it's a lot easier.

J texted me earlier and said that he was going to come to mine today to see Ryan. He texted later saying he was coming at half 7. He knows that Ryan goes to bed about this time, so obviously when he got here.. Ryan was in bed asleep. I didn't tell J this when he texted saying he was coming at half 7 because, to be honest, he should know that is when his son goes to bed, and he really can't expect him to be awake every time he comes round. I cannot make him stay awake for longer than he wishes to - he just gets to the grumpy point and won't be happy until he goes to bed.

Whilst J was here, Ryan woke up crying. He usually does this, but you can just put a dummy in, pull his sheets back up and he'll roll over and go straight back to sleep. I went upstairs to sort Ryan out, leaving J downstairs. When I got back, he said, "Are you not going to bring him down then?". I said that I wouldn't be as he's tired and he's gone to bed, and that if I woke him up and brought him downstairs, I'd have to calm him down for the next 3 hours or so (whereas J can just go home 10 minutes later if he wishes). J seemed a bit peeved off then, I dunno, just a feeling I got. But really.... I don't think I did anything wrong. I keep thinking maybe I should have told him he couldn't come up at half 7, but then chances are that if I did, then Ryan WOULD have been awake then. Also, I'd asked J to bring a tub of Aptamil that we'd pretty much ran out of so did need it today.

Just a rant, anyway. x

:hugs:

Why should you be the one that tells him? As you said,he should know that this is Ryan's bed time...Now,mabe next time he will know...hopefully...
But...guys,huh?

He should play a more active part if he expects him to be up whenever he decides its convient for him!! He should know when his son's bedtime is!
