So, I am normally a size 12 but as the pounds seem to be steadily going on I have been looking for some size 14 maternity short. Today, went into h&m and picked up a few pairs, found some nice pink ones which they didnt have a 14 so thought I would try the 16. Got to the changing room, couldn't get the 14s past my knees and even the 16s were a bit snug so ive ended up buying 2 pairs of size 18s. Has anyone else found this in h&m? Its certainly shocked me into watching what I eat, well, for a few hours anyway! X

I haven't at H&M but have at other shops - try on Asda and Next before you panic... Also I put weight on my bum which always causes problems with trousers when tops fit fine! xx

I was usually a 12-14 in the bottom, 10 on top. Apart from the bump, my top hasn't changed too much, I can buy size 10 maternity tops and they will fit (apart from in H&M, I had to buy a 14!)
I also went to buy a pair of maternity shorts from H&M, and ended up having to buy a size 18.
I think their sizes are a bit small!

I feel a lot better now. I bought a 14 without trying on (I am normally a 12 so assumed 14 would be baggy) - they are too small!!!!!!!! I just thought I had put on a LOT, so I'm chuffed to read this post!

Everything at H&M runs in bigger sizes than I normally wear. It's not just you, it's just the way they size things.

I almost cried when i went into H&M. I'm usually a size 14 - tried on a 16 and the trousers were way too tight, again the 18's were snug! I went straight into New Look and tried on a pair of 14s and they fit perfectly!

I've just bought loads of maternity clothes in the next vip sale, all in a 16, so im hoping they will fit! xx

I never buy H&M trousers even when I'm not pregnant as jeans have no stretch or give to them and always need a bigger size up.

I tried on size 10 jeans for maternity weeks and week ago (I'm much bigger now!) and I could barely get the calves on.

Where as their tops and skirts i was a 6 or 8 before getting pregnant.

A 12 would have been a struggle to get on so I didn't even bother!!

Have a look on ASOS, they appear to be pretty good on sizes xxx

Yes, they are def small. When I went in there, there were little signs that told you what size to move to at different stages. I haven't been able to fit in my normal size maternity trousers from there for a few weeks and they were snug for a couple of weeks before then. Def not you, it's them!! X

Yeah I'm up a size in H&M maternity compared to everywhere else. I also find their tops have no room for boobs, though mine are massive now. The empire line sits across the middle of them.

Ah phew! Thanks girls, dont feel so bad about myself now to hear others have found the same! Thank you for your replies :) xx

I'm currently wearing h and m maternity jeans and I couldn't get a 14 or a 16 past my knees! And I'm normally a 14 :).

I find their sizing to be really off in the maternity range. When pregnant with my son I had a size 10 pair of topshop maternity jeans, these were a bit big, so I thought I'd try on the 8 in h&m jeans, I couldn't get them past my thighs! I'd have needed a 14 at least, despite the 10 in topshop being too big! However, I recently bought a maternity skirt from h&m in the medium, and it's way too big!
