Went to hospital yesterday evening to see consultant for early scan (also had one 2 weeks ago where bubs was dated 5w6d) to check everything is still good after previous miscarriage.

I was terrified because my second scan last time was where we found out that bubs had died, and I was so worried that it would happen again.

I was lying there and couldn't see the screen. She was pressing really hard on my tummy (and I had a really full bladder - got a bit over-enthusiastic with my drinking beforehand) and was moving the scanner round lots, but was totally silent. All I could hear was my heart pounding in my ears as I thought 'not again, not again'. Then after about a minute she let out a huge sigh of relief and said 'ah, there we go - it was hiding'.

I think we all sighed with relief! Hubby said afterwards that he could see the screen, and he was thinking 'I'm not a doctor, but I can't see anything moving on that screen. There's no heartbeat.'

Anyway, when she turned the screen around, bubs was there, heart pounding away, and measured 8w3d, which is exactly what I make it to be based on my dates :happydance:. We got some cool pics - on one bubs even has little bumps sticking out, which I've convinced myself is the beginning of its arms and legs. :haha:

Feel slightly less nervous now, as chance of miscarriage is down to 5%, and I'm further along than I got last time (or bubs is anyway). Am keeping everything crossed.

Sticky baby dust to everyone

I could almost have written that post myself! I had a 2nd scan at 9w 3d last Friday. I had begged the doctor for another scan as I had had had a mmc at 8 weeks, but didn't find out till almost 12 weeks when I started bleeding.

All was fine, great heartbeat and a pic I couldn't really make head nor tail of until mum in law said " that looks like arms and legs" awww.

Glad it all went well for you.

I've got my 12/13 week scan on 8th Oct and it seems like forever away!
