Hi Ladies,

Hope your all well. I wanted to ask - has anyone had fibroid removed from the womb/near the womb wall??

I was told that I have a 2cm Fibroid near the wall of the womb or something along those line and now I have to have surgery to remove it because there is no medication for it.

What is classified as a big Fibroid and quite dangerous? Iv heard from people that Fibroid is pretty bad thing. Anyways please let me know if you have any knowledge on this.

Thanks in advance. Take care.

I had a fibroid removed in 2006 that was the size of a softball. It was located between my uterus and my colon. It was unusual to have one outside of the uterus. I was told they weren't dangerousand that they aren't cancerous. My had to be removed via an incision like a c-section because of it's size. The only thing they said, is if you have one, you are more likely to have more. I haven't had one since.

Is yours inside or outside of your uterus? We had gone to a fertility specialist and they said that's one thing they were going to check for since I had them b/c even a very small one inside your uterus would make it so a fertilized egg wouldn't attach. We were lucky after TTC for a year and our first appt we ended up pregnant and I didn't have to go through any of the tests. They did make it sound like if there was a fibroid inside my uterus, they could remove it and that this may be the only thing that was keeping us from getting pregnant.

I wish you the best of luck!!!

Hi Hopeful18,

Thanks for your reply. The doctor said my fibroid is just outside the uterus. What is worse? To have the fibroid inside the uterus or outside?

Im new to this. x

Hi Yearning,
I'm not sure which is worse, I think it depends on what you are trying to do. My fertility doc said if I had a small one insode my uterus, it would keep a fertilized egg from implanting. I don't know if having one on the outside would do the same. Depending on the size, they may be able to get it through laproscopy (not sure of spelling) which is a small incision near the belly button. They tried to do that with mine, but it was too big so they had to do another cut right above my old c-section scar.

I would write down all of the questions you have and either call your doctor or ask at your next appointment. When you begin talking, sometimes you forget the questions you wanted to ask.

Let me know how it goes!!! Good luck!

Thanks hopeful 18,

I have an appointment in mid January which I know its not too long, but its such a tension not knowing how serious my situation is. I dont know any details or for sure what they are going to do, the doc just brifly said to me when I went for the HyCosy and I was so upset, shocked that my mind became blank to ask any questions. I just want my appointment to come fast, its more stressful when you dont know whats happening/going to happen if you know what I mean. Iv been TTC for many years and no luck and now with this fibroid thing I dont know where my route is going.

Yep I will update you after my appointment, thanks once again. xxx
