Hi All,

I had an ERPC yesterday and am pretty much back to normal today apart from a sore tummy and the odd bit of brownish bleeding here and there.

Just wanted to know if anyone else had had one and how long after did your period come? Also if anyone has concieved after an ERPC and how long did it take and is everything normal with the pregnanyc this time around?

xxx

Sorry I have no experience of ERPC but I just want to send you some :hugs:I hope one of the others on here can give you the advice you want xx

I am sorrry. :hugs: I don't mean to be rude, but what is a ERPC?

It is similar to what we call a D&C where the cervix and womb is cleared out after a miscarriage, and as far as I know there should be no problems conceiving again xxxxx

I'm so sorry for your loss :hugs: I had mine on 28th Dec and my period came just under 6 weeks later. Hope you don't have to wait to long for yours so you can try again (if thats what you're wanting to do).

Sending you a hug lovely, hope that you are okay :hugs:

So sorry to hear what you've gone through! :hugs:

As the other girl said the procedure you had is also known as a d&c..i had mine 22 feb and like felt pretty much like you describe. Your period will come when it decides to (evil witch :)) but most see it coming back 3 to 6 weeks after. This is mainly due to your body's individual way of regulating itself such as the hgc (pregnancy hormone) leaving your body etc..

I dont know if you've decided to start ttc again. But i was given the all clear to right there in the hospital, and also told to expect my period in 3-4 weeks.

Needless to say im still waiting :)...but since we're ttc right away im just having fun with it as the general thought is that you are more fertile after as your body is more primed for pg now as a) it has already been pg and recognises allt the symptoms of a pg and b) you're womb has been cleared out, so to speak. In fact, due to the body regulating itself it can be difficult to know when you ov so many women get pg quite quickly..one girl posted her friend got pg 10 days aftr the d&c!!!! crazy..but so you know, it can happen! in any case, since it's so very individual..do whats right for you and take the time you need...

I feel like ive gone though the best (getting/being pg) and the worst of it (the mc) but im hopeful and try to take it all as it comes, one day at a time..(i.e. i have not succumbed to total poas madness yet :))

Hope this helps and good luck!! :hugs:

I'm so sorry. I had a d&c (actually more like a d&e), but anywayz, it took my period 31 days to come after bleeding stopped.

I had my d and c on Tuesday (4th March) and I have only had light bleeding on/off since. I have had a bit of an upset tummy however...has anyone else had this? The doctor told me to expect a period in about a month and not try again till after I have the 2nd period. My friend has just told me today that when she m/c a few months ago (I didn't even know she had) her doctor told her to wait 6 months. I don't think I could be that patient!

Ive had an upset tummy as well.. ugh! apparently its normal after a d&c..

I also have to be honest and say that even if i was told to wait but i was physically fine, i wouldnt.. Im Miss Impatient and have no time to lose, lol.... :)

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to say thanks you so much for your replies.. it helps to know that im not the only one going through this and as not many of my friends know my situo or have ever suffered what I have just gone through it helps ALOT!

I am most definitley trying to get pregnant again and in the least amount of time... I am also very impatient and very paranoid that it will happen again and just want everything to be ok second time around. It makes me think can I have babies at all...

Fingers crossed for next time!! xxxx

Hi Cazza,

you are so welcome and im glad we could help a little...:)

im gonna say something really silly, cause im sure i wont follow this advice myself, but try not to be paranoid...mc happens to most women, even in my own family and OH's as well, and all have gone on to have healthy pg's and babies after...

However, i did ask the doc about getting an early scan next time and he said he didnt think that would be a problem, and i sure am getting one..just so i dont go crazy with worry :)

Take good care of yourself and you'll see in time you will be ready, willing and able!! here's to us all getting a :bfp: sooner rather than later!!

:hugs::hugs:

hi...
I had a erpc on Nov 12 th after having a missed miscarriage.
I bled for around a week and then my period returned about a month later.
My periods were very heavy after the erpc which I guess was just my body getting better. (i asked the doc and he said they actually scrape ur womb so heavy periods are normal for the first few months) He also advised I wait at least one period before trying again pref three months to let my body heal which I did. My baby was due in May so in order to try and deal with that I booked a dream hol to the US beginning of May, although somehow god had other plans for me and has given me another chance, a miracle baby - im now six weeks gone today.
Im very very nervous and lack of morning sickness is really worrying me although I know im still early days.
thats my story..

Congratulations Beth!!! That is fantastic news, I am sure it is natural to feel nervous. I am sure if/when I get pregnant again I will be as well! Can I ask...when is everyone else going try again? I am scared and very excited but not sure if I should follow doctors orders or just go for it (she said wait 2 months). She also told me not to have sex till next week when I see her for check up!!!

yeah its to do with infection..
I wanted to get pregnant the day after the op (my way of trying to cope) but glad I waited. I feel I have dealt with my hurt and anger over the whole thing and now i just feel sad that it didnt work, that it wasnt meant to be.
its your personal choice hunny
I just hope and pray this gift is given to me.. xx
