So I've had a few complications this pregnancy and I've been getting what feel like contractions for a couple weeks now - after my appendix surgery. They never seem to get more intense, just more frequent. On Sunday I was timing them and they were exactly 5 minutes apart and lasting a minute but they never got extremely painful.

Anyways, my doctor sent me for my 5th ultrasound this pregnancy. During the scan she showed me baby and told me she looks healthy! But she spent a good half hour checking out my cervix and kidneys. The techs aren't really allowed to tell us anything so when it was all done she said I would have to get the results from my doctor. I have an appointment with my doctor today. I feel like of everything was normal she wouldn't be telling me to talk to my doctor for results? Now I've got myself all worried.

I know baby is okay but I feel like there may be something wrong with me!

Good Luck today, try and relax. I'm sure everything is just fine. Our minds are the worst in times like this because we second guess EVERYTHING and I'm sure that our hormones don't help.

I just got back from my doctors and I was sort of right haha. Baby is doing great! Measuring right on track and very healthy. They found no reason for the contractions he said it's probably just a side effect from my body undergoing surgery and taking medication but it's not causing any changes to my cervix or dilation or anything. So that is good news! The only thing they did find was a large gall stone which apparently is very normal during pregnancy and usually go away on their own, as well as a small kidney stone. He said its a little odd since kidney stones usually occur in men but at this point it doesn't seem concerning enough to need to remove it.

So mostly good news!

Hi Hun, that's great that bub is good! I'm a sonographer and just wanted to let you know that gallstones don't disappear on their own. Well, not big ones anyway as they can't pass through the cystic duct. So you might have to have that checked out after you have had bubs. I'm not sure why he said that a large gallstone would disappear.
I hope you stop getting pain soon. Good luck in the rest of your pregnancy xx xx
