I just really hope you both get electives as EMCS is not fun, its the one thing I did not want even though I had not laboured for hours on end, you feel you did not get to plan or bring anything with you like music or a camera and forget skin to skin with an emcs because they are susually done if mother or baby is sick and we both were in that case but rest assured what ever happens, it wont hurt physcially will baby is being delivered and you WILL get to hold your LO's and the scar so minimal I think there are vaginal births with more holes and tears than there are c section incisions gone wrong but that could just be a N.Z thing as we are blessed with fantastic Obstetricians here who do not use staples or hack through you, its all gentle and the baby is lifted out so gently its so easy for them lol easier than getting stuck down the birth canal or losing oxygen
all the best ladies and do not forget to keep asking for pain relief every four to six hours in case the nurses forget, and you may need morphine or demerol for the first six to 24 hours you may not, it all depends on how well you are afterward and DONT try to move until the midwives come in and tell you its time, the same applies to eating your first meal, ask them when you can but do not just go and eat.
