Hair Falling OUT!

Hello ladies... I am 4 months pp and all of a sudden my hair is falling out!! Not like I am going bald or anything but the amount of hair strands I find are much more than I have ever seen even before I was pregnant! Anyone else have this issue, is it a hormone thing??

This is very common after pregnancy. Try not to worry hun. It always looks more than it actually is. If you google you'll see how common it is. Should be back to normal 6-12 months after baby x

Omg, this is exactly what I'm going through too. Even my OH and mum comment about always finding my hairs on them haha. Everyone's told me it's normal and will die down eventually x

Totally normal! It's scary as hell, but it is normal.

When it happened to me, my hairline receded, and my hair was super-long and looking ick. I went to the hairdresser and got it cut into a very layered, shoulder-length style, and was so happy I did. It looked normal again, bouncy and flippy And, when the hair fell out, it didn't scare me as much because the length was shorter, so the amount looked a little more reasonable. I highly recommend it. I realized that this is probably why a good chunk of new moms get the "mom haircut."

Ahhh, don't we all wish we could keep the pregnancy hair?

Yep happened to me with dd1. I have long hair and after a shower the plug hole would be FULL of my hair. GP said its totally normal. Apparently the reason we get thicker better looking hair in pregnancy is that we dont shed as much hair (apparently we lose approx 100 hairs a day usually) due to hormones. After pregnancy we have a lot of extra hairs that then fall out as they would have done anyway as our hormone levels drop and level out. He reassured me I wouldn't go bald (I was seriously worried!) and I didnt.

Dont worry it will soon slow down. Mine lasted a few weeks.

Phew I am glad there are other woman going through this, I had the best hair and nails when I was pregnant!! I am nervous to go have my hair done to watch it fall out when she highlights it and washes it!! Does anyone take vitamins for there hair?

Totally normal - my hair started literally coming out in clumps at 4 months and stopped at 6 months pp. I now have tufts of 'baby hair' all round my hair line and parting. Its your hormones and once they regulate, the hair loss will stop. hang in there
