I have worn my hair in the same rubbish way every day since I was 13. I have issues about it for some reason. I feel like if I suddenly make an effort with my hair, people will comment, and I hate being centre of attention like that. I have a centre parting, and tie it back with a hair elastic. I dont even dry it, I just tie it back wet. It takes me literally 30 seconds to 'do' my hair each day. I haven't been to a hairdresser since I was about 15, my sister just cuts it straight across the bottom for me a couple of times a year. I have promised myself that in the New Year, I will start making more of an effort. Can anyone recommend a SIMPLE style that I can wear down, that is really easy to maintain as i'm rubbish at styling etc. I dont have a clue with straightners etc. I dont care what length, and my face is quite round.

I usually just part mine to one side and leave it down. You could also try a simple bun. Once you have it in the ponytail, just roll it around and pin it.

I never spend more than 5 minutes on my hair unless I'm going out-out . I either plait it while its damp and undo it in the morning so I have waves, do 2 French plaits and pin them at the back or tie them into 2 nuns, do a French plait along the front and then tie it all back in a bun or just do a simple ponytail/bun.

I am the same as you - other than a hairdresser does mine (I don't trust my sisters with scissors )

I agree with the other ladies in regards to having it back, but what about having it feathered onto your face? That way when you do wear it down, its more into your face line that just straight down.

It doesn't make a difference to your usual pontail either
