What food are you doing? I've got about 50 coming, then found out I was pregnant and food makes me sick agh. Lol. So I'm feeling vey uninspired.

Making chilli (with rice, wedges, nachos, cheese etc) , getting subways platters, pizza etc, any ideas?

Got a friend making a cake, I'll make one too if I can, probably get a few gateau.

Love all the Pinterest stuff but really don't have the energy lol:haha:

We're having a Halloween/bonfire party.
For food I'm doing pulled pork (done in the slow cooker so I don't have to worry about it!) rolls, sausages in French bread, chilli, potato wedges, quiche, buttery rice, potato salad, a vegetable and dip platter, chicken wings. Then bowls of crisps and things out of a packet.
I'm doing easy deserts- a jelly made with lemonade and some Haribo spooky sweets and toffee apples. Oh and some fruit and marshmallow skewers. Plus the obligatory tangerines with faces drawn on to look like pumpkins :haha:

Thanks, sounds lush, I looked at pulled pork, then morning sickness kicked in lol ... You defiantly helped, hadn't considered potato salad, I usually do a dip platter too and totally forgot. Is buttery rice rice with butter in it? Sorry to be dim. Sounds nice.

Aww no, morning sickness and cooking really don't go do they! For buttery rice I use this recipe: https://www.taste.com.au/recipes/27857/fragrant+butter+rice
It's really easy and I make a huge pan, takes 15 minutes and is warm and rich :).

Lol. No, it seemed like a good idea when I sent invites out and a week later we discovered our surprise! No one knows either so it's really awkward, well my bestie knows so she is coming to help. But even interest food shopping make me feel Ill so coking up with Ideas is difficult lol

Congrats on your pregnancy :)... I think the food you mentioned sounds delish...

Hey I'm having a Halloween party, nowhere near as many people as yours lol I'd say maybe 20 tops. I'm doing hot dogs for the kids, chilli with garlic bread and nachos and pizzas for the adults. I've made a carrot cake and spooky cupcakes will make a raspberry jelly with eye ball sweets in in a brain shaped mold (ew I know lol) and I'm going to make a big punch using ginger ale, pineapple juice lime sorbet and green food colouring, to that I'm going to add floating ice hands (water in plastic gloves frozen with red food colouring) that will be about it really, I'll put out crisps and other small snacks for the children. On and tonnes of sweets, I originally made so,e piñata' but they turned out real bad so I've made a trick or treat box and filled it with toys and sweets.
Another idea, I was going to make a pumpkin soup, but I really couldn't be bothered, here's the recipe I looked at https://www.knorr.co.uk/recipes/detail/8378/1/pumpkin-soup
Hope your party goes well :flower:

Haha great minds and all that :p I'm really lucky as I have my dad doing all of the cooking on the night for me as I'm really not a very good cook, I've just told him what I want doing lol.

Haha, lucky, I'm probably going to make chilli tomorrow as second day chilli always taste better lol. But will depend how much I get done, today was a disaster, trying to get house spotless and twins decided today would be the day they climb out of their cots, so the wrecked the joint and then moaned all afternoon as they missed their nap. Argh. Lol

Potato ash and black peas are like a MUST at any Halloween/bonfire party around here!

Potato ash is carrots, potatoes, onions, swede and corned beef put in a slow cooker or a large pan on a low heat full of water and then gravy granules at the end. Serve with mushy peas, crusty bread, brown sauce, beetroot, pickles and red cabbage (mouth is watering yum, yum, yum)

Black peas are a tradition around this type of year https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_peas

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=black+peas&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=XoFxUpq0O-2w7AaZxoDQBg&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=599#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=krQPfo4TZjl04M%3A%3Bu0Zalky2QNrsvM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.crow-pie.co.uk%252Farchive_subjects%252Fblack_pea_store%252Fcooked_black_peas-CP.JPG%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.crow-pie.co.uk%252Farchive_subjects%252Fblack_pea_carling_1.html%3B500%3B340

Serve them with plastic cups, spoons, vinegar and salt/pepper!

You only tend to get black peas on the market round here about this time of year though?

I don't know why you don't see them (readily available) any other time? You have to soak them for DAYS though!

I managed to get quite abit done yesterday whilst LO was in nursery so only have to put up the gazebo and decorate the garden and front and back of house. I'm in agony today though with my hips so going to try take it easy, hope your party goes well today, so exciting! X

I had three Manic days, trying to get the house tidy, food bought, cooked and house decorated. 6pm turned up and no one was here, by 7 there were loads but I almost ran upstairs in tears haha. Flipping pregnancy. Thankfully morning sickness eased up the whole day so got loads done. In agony too now, and have 15 people here for tea and family over for Sunday lunch tomorrow argh. Then have twins party to plan for on 24th
