So..

I'd like to have some EBM for my LO in the fridge.. for a bottle feed for DH once in a while and for when I go somewhere where I can't breastfeed (DH's work).

I have a lansinoh manuel pump but I can't get more out than like 2 drops ?
When I hand express I get about 1 oz in 10 minutes..

Is this normal?

How would I go about expressing 3 oz for 1 feed?
What/when is the best method/time to do this?

I'm 9 months in now and haven't used my manual pun cor months, LO hasn't had a bottle since
Xmas. Anyway I'll get to the point - I express every min pretty much for LOs breakfast ad I get 3-4 oz in 10 mins. It does depend on how much LOs had in the night but it works quite well.

I would defo suggest doing it first thing as that's when most full, a friend found it easier to express whilst feeding as the milk is stimulated by LO on other breast. If your planning on doing this often I'd invest in an electric pump as so much easier I've heard, the baby asda event Donegal cheap.

I've never been a regular expressed until I wanted bm for porridge but I find hand expressing easier than myanual pump-less gaffing around too. Not sure if I've helped much but good luck

Maybe its the brand of pump you have. I understand that the medela and avent are the best manual pump. I express everyday and I would not have survived without my pump. There was a couple days that i was without a pump and i hand expressed but i found it too time consuming.

thanks..which pump are you using?

If you only feed from one side at night and express from the other in the morning you should get more. I find the pump is good for stimulating my let down but after that I get more by hand xx

i have a TT manual pump, i find using a hand pump is an art there is a techniquie its not jsut a rythmic pattern of squeezing the pump you have to pump faster in the begining to stimulate let down then mimic the slow drawing sucks that your LO makes to get the milk flowing in a good way then when it slows if your not done you have to work a bit harder to get another letdown
