OK so, on the morning of March 27th I woke up and I was wet and I knew that it wasn't pee . I got to the hospital around 7:00 AM where they confirmed that my water had in fact broke. They checked me and I was 4 cm dilated. I was having contractions and I didn't feel them. A few hours later they checked me again and I was still 4 cm, they told me that they would check me again in an hour or two and see about using pitocin if nothing was changed. When they checked me again it was the same, but the nurse said that my water was not broken all the way, so they broke it and that is when things really started happening. By the time I was 6 or 7 cm I decided that I wanted an epidural so the nurse put an IV in and she told me it would be at least 30 minutes before I could get the epidural. Well, I never got the epidural. Not long after she put the IV in, I was in so much pain that she checked me again and I was already at 9 ½ cm. I started to push a couple of minutes later. I was afraid that the doctor was not going to make it in time, but he did. Baby Hannah was born 15 minutes later at 3:12 PM. She was 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and 20 ½ inches long.
