Happy to see HB but blood clot worry

Hey all,

Ive had two scans so far and both times saw a lovely HB flickering away.

The first scan was a 6w3d due to brown spotting saw the HB but was also told there was a second sac which was either a twin that didnt form or a burst blood vessel caused a sac of blood. I was told i may spot or bleed again.
A few days later i had red blood trickle out into the loo quite heavy which terrified me but there was no clots or pain so i assumed it was the blood sac coming out. I told my doctor who wanted me to have another scan which i did on friday.
7w2d and a lovely flickering HB but now that sac of blood they were calling a blood clot and it had grown in size now bigger and resting on my little ones sac. I was told theres nothing i can do about it it may be absorbed into my body or bleed out.

I stupidly googled blood clots on here and read some scarey stuff about them causing m/c, prem labour, stillborns etc etc im terrified this clot isnt going to go but get bigger and take my little one with it. I cant seem to find many other people on here with the same problem so dont feel i have anyone to share my worry with. But last pregnancy ended in a mmc, i just hope and pray this little one can hang on and stay with me full term.

I'm sorry you are are going through this stress. I had a similar issue to yours. I went for a scan at 6w3d and they found a 'marginal collection' of blood resting on the sac that was bigger than my little bubs. I was petrified. The sonographer was lovely, but sat on the fence when i asked if it was bad saying 'it would be better not to have it, but you have it. It will pass and it could be nothing, but it could also be damaging'. I went back to the OB GYN in a tissy and she laughed saying it was just that songoraphers way. She said it was in a good position and not to exert myself until it had passed.

8 days later (sorry for TMI) after going to the loo i wiped and there was a small, stringy brown (as in old blood colour brown) lump of discharge type stuff on the paper. I cried for about two hrs. Luckily i had an app at the OB GYN that day and she sent me straight for an emergency scan (but she was cool as a cucumber saying it was just fo my reassurance). All was fine! The collection of blood had gone. Both the doc and the songrapher said that usually they are just absorbed by the body and if not they are passed.

I know it's stressful hun, but try not to worry. I'm sure it'll be fine. Take it easy and get in touch with your doc if you bleed again. If you don't bleed just try to push for another scan in a week or so to check up on things.

hi.. i have being bleedin since 14weeks... when they scanned me again at 16weeks as i was stil bleedin they found a blood clot... its 101mm by 22mm by something else... cant find my notes!
my the sonographer woman said it might be gone by my next scan or it might not ... they dont no whats causing mine or nothing... but i think mine is at the side of my uterus wall... all along the one side... x

Im glad to see your pregnancies are still going strong.

As if the first tri isnt stressful enough without these clots hey! Ive found a group on here since i post this thread called The While most subchorionic hematomas group. Wheres theres alot of women going through the same worries.

My clot measured 15x35x28mm on my last scan on friday. I forgot to say i do have another scan booked for 2 weeks time to check whats happening. Please god let is absorb and go!

i dont get how the clot has got 3 sides :S... like mine was 3 sizes i dont get it... surely it would have 4... :S lol i think it might jus me being a bit mad!!

i would try not to worry.. i bled soooo much the first time i thought i had lost baby! when i went for that scan i was sooo amazed!! but i didnt have a lot of fluid round baby as i was loosing fluid too! they thought i would miscarry that weekend!

i have my scan tuesday i wil let u no if the blood clot has gone or got smaller or whatever so u can at least try not to worry too much about urs not going? ... xx

Sounds like a have a little fighter on board aiimee! What a scarey thing to be told!

I hope your scan goes well and that nasty clot has gone or shrunk in size.

Ive been signed off of work now as i have a phsyical job, ive been signed off for 3 weeks and depending on if the clot and bleeding has got better or not maybe more! She said it would do me good to rest up to heal the bleed instead of all the bending and running around i do which probably wouldnt help things heal.

yeah its good to have a rest!! ... & i think liftin and stuff jus pulls everything

i hope its gone too... but dont think it wil have gone completely as im stil bleeding.. but then the blood might jus be old blood or something!!
jus want my scan now!!
wish we could jus see our babies all the time would be so reassuring wouldnt it?xxx

haha yeah that would be great to beable to see them whenever we wanted. Do you have a doopler?

Do you feel lots of kicking at 20wks?

yea i have got a doppler... i went to use it before... and i have left it on since the last time i used it so battery gone

& not really... i do mostly on a night like when im lieing down & want to sleep lol!
but i told my MW and she thinks its cus my placentas low... but on my one scan it was & by my next week they didnt say it was :S i dunno i hate it one person says one thing another one says something different! lol x

haha typical he or she isnt born yet but keeping you awake at night already! Aww i cant wait until im at your stage!

Just one more sleep until you find out the sex too! Do you have a gut feeling of the sex?

i no yh i never thought i would get here!!

& at first i did think boy... but ever since that scan i had at 16weeks i have thought girl... jus because the legs have been closed lol!

everyone thinks its a boy except me & my mom! lol

I'm not sure if this helps, but I was found to have a large bleed next to baby's sac at a scan at 6+1, which was still there at 7+3. I bled from about 5weeks until 11-12 weeks (mostly brown, but sometimes red and sometimes a lot) and when I went for my scan at 13+3 the bleed had almost gone. I am hoping that as I have only had tiny bits of brown discharge now that at my 20 week scan it will have gone. I hope everything goes ok for you.

can i jus ask millwallrose... u havent bled but at your 13week scan it was stil there?

I've only had a tiny bit of brown discharge every now and then since my 13 week scan, but it is so much smaller than it was at my previous scans so they told me they are pretty sure it will either be bleed out or reabsorbed.

cus i have bled since 14weeks started verryyyyy heavy... but on my 16week scan this clot measured 101mm by something by something... & i have bled since then but not as heavy as the first time... but little bits & brown blood too
i jus dont want it to have got bigger

having a girl!!
shes fine

my blood clot has gone from 101x22x85mm to 64x12mm!!
so has shrunk quite a lot in nearly 4weeks!! :O ...

stil got to see a consultant today at half 1! so wil have to see what they say about the clot... but the woman scanning me said try not to worry as its obviously not harming the baby!
