I'm a bit lost... My lo got the big red little people dino last year and has recently fallen in love with it. I had intended to buy him a few Playmobil sets but now I'm wondering whether to get more little people sets... They look really similar to me, are they?

Which does your lo prefer?

**Edited... I actually meant Playmobil not happy land!

They're really similar. It's a personal preference really. For me Happyland is a win!

I'm in the US and as far as I know we only have Little People here, but I looked up Happyland online and it DOES look the same! I don't know of a big red dino though? Maybe you have different sets over there. Anyway, that's not very helpful but I just wanted to mention it.

My LO likes his LP sets though. He has a market, pirate ship, school bus, Christmas, tractor and part of a farm. I think he gets the most use out of the bus and the pirate ship.

If you're not bothered about 2nd hand, have look on local FB selling sites. You can pick them up really cheaply and the Fisher Price Little People stuff is so robust it looks brand new! (personally I think it's more robust than the ELC happyland stuff - but that just me....my daughter has no preference!)

Thanks :) I think I'll need a trip to town to check them all out, I've done everything online so far as its such a hassle to get anywhere!

Personally prefer little people. Much better made never had anything break and ds1 was a thrower (castle survived a trip down the stairs!) Used to nanny fit some children who had loads of happy land, it was nice but I found it to be a but flimsy, forever replacing doors and windows etc.

My lo prefers little people though loves her happyland dino set. My lo has the little people princess castle and the klip klop stable and adores them as does my nephew. She prefers little people because you can put them in cars etc easily. She loves the little people farm set

I have both and they're equally as good as each other.

Playmobil always! They're classic, last forever, way more fun, good resale value, great to pass on to the next generation, and generally amazing!

Playmobil is completely different? Id gove happyland or little people to 1 year olds but imo Playmobil 3+ minimum.

Depends on the child. My LO has been playing with it since about 18 months and adores it. It's easy to take small parts away.
