hard/tightened uterus with cramping

A couple times a day my uterus feels like its contracting. I'm a little worried about what I've read online about it. Has anyone else had this hardening uterus with cramps?

I haven't had this yet myself but from what I read on these forums, sounds a bit like braxton hicks. You might want to see a midwife or a doctor to get it checked out, good luck

I called my hospital today, the nurse said some disheartening things. I'm pretty scared. she said "if something is wrong , you're only 18 weeks, it would mean that the baby is not viable." Wtf! How could she tell me that without proper examination? This was an hour ago. She said if it continues after a couple hours of rest, to come to the emergency room. That they will probably put me on iv fluids. But "that's all we can do". I feel my baby moving around like crazy my husband can feel the baby too. I will probably going in in another hour. I'm sure they are wrong about how far along I am too. I know I'm 19 weeks. Not 18.

A lot of women experience braxton hicks from early in their pregnancy right through until they deliver, this midwife you spoke to does not sound professional at all. I would be taking myself to the hospital hun, you can't be too careful.

What a stupid comment for the midwife to make, it can only lead to stressing you out unnecessarily, many ladies get braxton hicks in 2nd trimester. Hope you are okay hun

It sounds very like Braxton hicks - I get them alot it's just natural in pregnancy!

I hope its nothing bad i get thos all the time to the point where i actually sit on the floor and cry thinking im in labour i have had blood too though

Keep us posted and I hope everything is ok. I too have been getting mildly uncomfortable contraction feelings for the past couple weeks. Sometimes only twice a day and sometimes like 6-7 a day. Haven't asked my Dr yet. I've always heard lots of water and rest can help!

Thank you ladies. I went to the hospital last night they monitored me and checked cervical length , urines, and doppler. Everything was fine. They dont know why im contracting. They said stress can cause contractions. And I have been stressed. It started when my bil got out of jail and decided to invite himself to stay at my house. (Long story) I have an appt with my doctor tomorrow. And will let you all know what they say.
