Has anyone been on holiday with LO alone?

I want to go somewhere with G this year, just for a few days. Probably in UK but maybe somewhere further afield. She will be 3 by that time so hopefully a little easier to handle by myself. I have only ever been away with her a few times, first to Florida when she was 1 but I had my parents with me and a couple of times last year we went to Wales but again, I was with family.

I don't drive so would only be using buses/trains or maybe a plane if need be. Has anyone ever been on holiday, just them and LO? How was it? Was it stressful or was it nice to get away?

I'll be looking for replies too, I'm thinking about taking Kacie to the south east for a long weekend over summer.

I've been going through everything and train would probably be the best for us, but with train changes and luggage and buggy... all I think of is NIGHTMARE!

ive been on holiday with all three of my kids on my own (10,8,6) and we had a great time, i went to a caravan holiday park with them as they are geared up for kids, we went by train and i would say that was the most stressful bit!

Yes i recommend www.singlewithkids.co.uk its a site founded by singleparents for single parents and has chat rooms,forums and they organise decent priced holidays in uk and abroad.

i went first time camping in wales for a weekend on my own with 13 year old and babyand it was fab, didn't know anyone to start with but soon did and they even helpedput my tent up. since i've been bath at new year at beautiful historic youth hostel for a party weekend with 2 year old-made loads of friends and new forest for a week with little one and had loads of friends and again madesome good friends.

This year i'm planning going new year one again as this new year alone with little one as all teenagers out to own parties was so saaaaaaaad....and camping again and probably one in october as baby be a few months.

They also have loal events posted on the forum, last year went to a xmas event in stockport at a beautiful medieval hall, it was so lovely and the snow was so thick, so so so xmassy and saw father xmas....i've always gone alone and never felt lonely....i can't reccomend highly enough and if you make yourself a member at cpost of 3£ a month you get 15% discount of holidays.

Yesn I have travelled on my own a few times with my little boy. Most times I have met friends over there but some times in Spain I was in a hotel on my own and it was fine. Just have lots of patience. At 3 years your LO will be all interested in what's around and will be a little treasure of a memory to look back on
