I'm looking for recommendations on where to stay? I'm worried with it being so close to Magaluf I'll end up in a really noisy party hotel full of crazy drunk brits

I'm looking for somewhere really family friendly, self catering apartments ideally.

I'm so excited as its our first family holiday for a long time and I want everyone to really enjoy it!

Any help and advice would be amazing xxx

P.S - we would be going during August if that helps x

Thats exactly what hapoened to us, hotel was advertised as Palma Nova and was slap bang in the middle of Maga. I think with it being so close youre always gonna get party people at that time of year. Maybe you could just search for family hotels? Be sure to check trip advisor to make sure xx

We went to palma nova. I wouldnt go again as it was a bit of a mess. It is right on the edge of magaluf so you can hear the clubs although they are not intrusive. I just though the area was a bit run down, almost like they had decided not to bother cleaning up in case clubland spills over and makes a mess anyway.

Just a thought, why not try Santa Ponsa? If that's the area you like, less chance of party people. Also, maga stinks lol xx

Thank you lovelies! Yes, thats my worry that we will end up in the middle of Magaluf and my husband would kill me....lol!!

I'll have a look at Santa Ponsa now, thanks hun. Its still in the area we want to go but further from Magaluf so thats good.

A lot of people recommended the north of the island but I don't think that will work for us as we don't drive so really need to be close to the airport and also to all the attractions which from my research all seem to be in the southern part.

Cala dor is family friendly, so clean, no nightclubs just great bars and restaurants. It's a lovely busy and bustling square in the evening , we had no problem taking our 3 yeAr old out every night.

Ive been to Magaluf and a lot of people we met were staying in hotels in Palma Nova so it seems that the two places can easily get mixed up!

The beach in Magaluf is actually really nice :haha:

That's because everyone's still too pissed to make it to the beach, no one ever goes to get it messed up because they're still in bed recovering!:haha:

We stayed in Sa coma which was much more for families and less clubbing. It was beautiful x

I second Sa Coma. We used to go every year, thinking about going back this year, both myself and my dad love it there.

It does look lovely. Although I've read its best to have a hire car if staying in this region as public transport isn't very reliable. We would want to go out most days to the water park and to visit other places so hoping to be quite close to save money on taxis.

I think I'm sold on Santa Ponsa. It seems to be just right for us. I've found some apartments also that are in budget so hoping to get it booked later today. Cant wait!!

So glad I asked! If not i could have found myself on a lovely family holiday in the centre of Maga.........:drunk:
