Has anyone done a clomid round without a period first on long cycle?

Hi ladies,
I am waiting to start round 4 of clomid after a 2 month recommended break from my FS, that due to a few things unfortunately turned into a 4 month break. So my period was coming fairly regularly, and now has gone MIA. I'm on day 43 with negative hpt and no sign of AF-pretty sure its an anovulatory cycle. I called my FS to ask them to start me on provera, so yesterday they did bloodwork for me checking beta HCG (in case I'm preggo but I know I'm not), progesterone and estrogen. They said they will either start me on provera to bring on AF, or have me start clomid mid cycle.
Has anyone taken clomid mid cycle like that? If so, what was the response?

TIA!:flower:

Bump, anyone?

My clinic called me today and after my FS reviewed my hormone levels, I am to start clomid today mid cycle.

Hey, how is it going for you? I am searching starting clomid mid cycle but am not finding anything! Except you :)

My last cycle was 56days and I am now on CD24 and want to get things moving but don't know if I can start clomid in the middle or not. I normally don't ovulate and have totally irregular cycles.

Would love to hear how it has worked out for you :flow:

Hi! Thank you for responding!! I can sympathize with having irregular cycles. With your first baby did you use clomid to conceive?
My Dr checked my hormone levels and he thought they were at an appropriate level to take clomid mid cycle like that. 2 days after my last clomid pill I had two days of spotting and then it went away. I had a positive opk on Thursday so I'll see if I actually ovulated after my progesterone blood work next week.
So are you going to wait for AF or start clomid now?

Yes I was on Clomid when I conceived. The second round worked for us on just 50mg, thankfully <3

I think my body was gearing up to ovulate over the last couple days, I had lots of signs, but today my opks were not quite positive, so I think it's a misfire again :(

I'm going to see my doctor this week and see what she says, if it's OK to start mid cycle for me or not. I just don't know if it will still work in the same way, you know? Or if I should finish out my long cycle (I'm on CD26 right now and probably about halfway... but I never know for sure) and then begin anew. I guess it would depend on my hormone levels... we'll see!

I did my first round in 2012 without af, then bleed and did second round and fell pregnant in the February unfortunately it ended in early misscarriage, I had a break and had spontaneous ovulation in July, fell pregnant and again unfortunately ended in early misscarriage, went on to not try for a while to try and get our head round the miscarriages. Started clomid last December 2013 mid cycle, my endocrinologist said providing blood and hpt came back negative for pregnancy he can't see why I couldn't go mid cycle. Luckily I fell pregnant again on first cycle, totally unexpected as we only dtd 2 times but I'm not 18 weeks along and loving my little bump. I would encourage anyone who wants to, to try mid cycle clomid is af is non existent.

Good luck, and I'm sure ur bfp will be with u soon!!!

Xx

Thank you so much for sharing your story laurandan! It truly gives me lots of hope. Congratulations on your pregnancy:)
Floatingbaby, how's it going? Did you decide to start clomid or wait for AF? As for me, I go for progesterone blood work this weekend to see if I ovulated and I'm so nervous to find out. My nipples have been sensitive and the only other times that has happened was when I ovulated so I'm feeling a little hopeful.

Yes thanks laura!

I started having some fertile signs and got a + opk - not that that is any sort of guarantee - so I have decided to wait until af shows up *just in case* we caught the eggo. It's highly unlikely, but I am OK with not getting preggo this cycle anyway because of edd being Christmas. However, if somehow we managed to conceive w/o clomid I will be thrilled!

So I am waiting (for who knows how long) for the :witch: to come then I will be taking the baby drugs!

Hello! I just wanted to update that my progesterone blood test showed I did ovulate-the number was 65.8! Anything over 10 is good so that sucker is high. Omg I hope this will get me my BFP, and also I wonder how many eggs I ovulated!! I think I am 8 dpo today, I tested lastnight with an ic and was bfn, I'm not sure if I will test again any time soon but I'm still hopeful.
How are you doing floatingbaby?

WOW! That is SUCH great news :D It's such a relief when our bodies start working properly, eh!

I think I am about 8dpo - based on my fertile signs from just over a week ago - so same as you! I have this little feeling of a pressure ball in my lower pelvic area and REALLY wanted to test this morning at 8dpo... but I thought it was tooooooo early :haha: I also have ic's, so I might just do it for fun (*fun slash torture)

I am very tempted to poas tomorrow morning though... gahhh. I don't have many other signs though, so I don't know what to think!

Wow we are right on the same schedule! I might poas tomorrow as well. I have had some cramping the last few days in uterus area, but honestly I'm paying attention to every thing my body is doing and it may just be indigestion haha. I laughed out lol at your fun slash torture comment! I was basically just torturing myself testing at night on 7dpo. But it's so tempting not to!
Hopefully we will both have good news this month! I'll keep you posted:)

On Sunday I woke up at 330am feeling SO sick. My guts were not happy so I went to the bathroom - irregular bm's were on of my pg symptoms from laslt time - and while I was there I poas (12dpo I think too) and to my HUGE surprise I got a :bfp: I can't believe we did it on our own without any Clomid!

I'm SO happy. I feel proud of my body, somehow :haha:

What's your plan now? So sorry to hear about the bfn :( I know how gut wrenching they are :'( :hugs:

Just to be clear I was CD40 when I got my bfp.

I wish you so much love and luck

Yey congratulations!!! That is such amazing news.
I am 15 dpo and still no AF! I will test again tomorrow and hopefully it's good news. Time will tell!
Congrats again:)

Also, other than the upset tummy have you been having any symptoms? My nipples are still sensitive. If this round doesn't work ill do another clomid round next cycle.

Symptoms are definitely sensitive nipples - lo nursing is quite tender :-/
I have had sort of a dizzy/blood rushing to my head feeling, over and over since about Saturday.
Frequent urination just starting today
Pressure ball type feeling low in my abdomen - this is probably my biggest symptom.

I'm glad the witch hasn't shown for you - I hope she stays away!!!!
