Usually the posts on here about families are so negative, and I completely understand that our OH's, families, friends and OH/FOB's family and friends can sometimes really get on our t*ts, but tbh I think mine deserve a whole lot of credit. They have bought, and done, sooo much for me, OH and LO that I really don't think I'd have coped without them - especially now it's in the run up to Christmas :O.
So go on, give them the credit they deserve and tell everyone what they've done for you and bought for you, etc
OH:
Bought loads of clothes and stuff when we found out LO is a boy
.
Bought nursery furniture for at his house.
Regularly pays for little gifts for me
.
Forgot to say he comes to every appointment he can possibly get to, only missed one!
Mum & Dad:
Supported me throughout.
Mum has come with me to every midwife appointment so far.
Dad installed new sockets in both my room and LO's room.
They paid to decorate both my room and LO's room, and have new carpets fitted.
Paid £933 on furniture for LO's room (£400 of which I'm paying back to them because it's just too generous!).
Give me £40 a week as pocket money until the baby's born (so I have money saved and can buy Christmas presents, etc).
Gran & Granda:
Give me £20 a week pocket money (will stop once the baby's born I guess).
Bought crib, crib mattress, cotbed and cotbed mattress.
Regularly give me extra money for bits & bobs.
Gran bought me £100 worth of baby stuff after my 12 week scan.
Granda regularly gives me money for taxis & stuff as I struggle to get around without.
OH's Parents:
Bought loads of clothes, nappies and other essentials.
Bought a 2 in 1 swing & seat (it's gorgeous!).
Bought me the pram I wanted (Quinny Buzz 3
).
FIL drives me around when he's off work.
MIL always chats away to me and we go wanders in the park with OH's 3 little brothers.
Treat me like I'm their own flesh and blood iykwim.
OH's Grandparents:
Bought a gorgeous moses basket style cot, (which is on wheels so can have it next to the bed at night and roll it away in the morning).
Bought a bouncer for LO.
Regularly buy little bits and bobs for LO.
His granda built the nursery furniture (at OH's house).
His gran gave us £50 to have a night out as we hadn't been out in a while.
Please don't think I'm spoilt, OH keeps joking that I'm a spoilt brat
I know I've been very lucky, but I am very grateful for it all and appreciate it immensely, and do not just expect people to buy me things, therefore I wouldn't say I'm spoilt lol, just lucky - and I'm sure there's others out there that have been bought a lot by parents, etc.
So add your contributions and show them all you care !
xx
