Has anyone else painted their spare room cream...

or any other girl you wanted your nursery.

i've just done mine so when i finally do get preg all i've got to do is add a themed wallpaper and curtains lol

like to be prepared

We moved into our new house over 2 years ago and we have one room we've done nothing with, no curtains up yet. So it is cream and I'm still waiting to get excited and get some new curtains up and maybe a nice border and some nice new nursery furniture. I think it'll be empty for a while yet.

We have had ours painted for 4 years (3 years in a different house) and now (1 year in this house.

I said to dh that now I want to either paint it another colour so that it doesn't remind me of a lo OR re-paint it anyway when we get the news - because at this point I don't like the colour anymore. I would rather something else now.

When we first started ttc 4 years ago I dreamed of the nursery and knew exactly how I want it. Now I have no interest and actually kind of repulsed and overwhelmed by the thought of looking at baby stuff - hope this feeling goes away if we ever get the good news...

A couple of weeks before we started our treatment I painted our spare room white. It had been blue and I wanted to say I had helped to decorate the nursery. Knowing if I was preggo my dh wouldn't let me paint!

Around the same time I bought the wallpaper, lampshade, cot quilt and bumper. LOL!!! Its a nice neutral design so suits either a boy or girl. This morning I got my BFP, so ladies it was all worth it.

Last week I thought to myself what the heck did I buy all that for! Now Im really glad I did and I know you'll be the same!!!!!! The way I think about it is if it helps get you through this journey or eases or comforts you in anyway do it!!

Wow congratulations JojoD!!

We have the one room that we havent done anything with either! It just has a spare wardrobe and my wedding dress handing from the curtain pole instead of curtains. I so desperately want to be able to start decorating it for a little one but cant bring myself to unless I know we are having one.

We have been in our house 18 months now and the only thing I hate is when we show people round and they see that room and give us a knowing look before saying "saving that room for the nursery are we?" to which we reply as if we havent thought about it.. "oh, maybe one day". Dont you just love them!

I refuse to paint or buy anything because to me thats pushing my luck assuming ill have a child. I just cant do it and wont untill im near my end stages

I've done this in two houses already... the current future nursery is white, and was newly decorated before we moved in, and its rented, so at best we'll have a few nursery pics plus nice curtains
