SEE UPDATE BELOW!

i have done twice lol one time was 2 days before the csection date i went up the hospital to go to a prep appt and went into labour in the waiting room so just walked round to labour an delivery and told em and they put me on a monitor to check and sure enough i was having contractions within twenty minutes i was in theatre and getting my csection x

Me! I was booked in for the 16th. But at 9 am on the 11th my waters broke out of the blue, and I got awful backache. We made it to hospital around 11am (boyfriend had to come home from work!) and the monitors confirmed the backache was actually contractions. I was 1 1/2 cm dilated at that point. We decided to still go for the c section but someone was already in theatre, so they moved me from triage into a labour room. Then they had an emergency case so I got pushed back (they didn't want to open the other theatre as I was nowhere near giving birth, only 2cm by then). i went to theatre at 16:30, Robyn was born at 16:58.

Me too! My section was planned for 1st June but I went into labour on 31st May! When I got up about 9:30 I felt tightenings but ignored it, I was starving so made boiled eggs and toast, whilst eating it the tightenings got mor pronounced so I told dh about them (he works nights so was home!) within 15 mins (whilst doing some ironing ) I knew I was in labour, got dh to time the contractions whilst I had a shower (again ) they were 3 mins apart and lasting 40 secs each time. After I'd dressed and dried my hair  I phoned l&d and was advised to come straight in (I explained I was due for a section the following day) when I arrived (about 11:30) I was 3cm they gave me the option to carry on which I politely turned down. As I had eaten they wanted to wait so I had my section at 14:15 my LO was born!
Being in labour and knowing I didn't have to go through with a "natural" birth made the labour pains easier to deal with IMO.

I am worried about this. Summer came 2 days early but i have unicornuate uterus which means the babies i carry can run out of space alot sooner therefore early labour is possible.

i did my little boy was due to be born on 24th april but my waters broke on 16th at 2pm and i had him at 8:25pm . would of been earlier that day but i had a full hearty lunch :haha:

I was terrified of that happening... lol. It always seemed like a hit and miss as to how business L&D was. I would just watch your body very closely and if you even think you're in labor I would go and get checked out. They will let you have your csection if there isn't an emergency case.. but if there is.. its a good idea to have some extra time. Good luck to you.

With my 1st son I was booked for elective at 38+6 (breech), on 38+0 my waters broke, had "emergency" csection that day.

With my 2nd son I was booked in for elective 40+1, I started having contractions on due date, 5 mins apart, this continued until the next day but I didn't progress so went ahead with csection.

I'm actually hoping I go into labor early. My section is booked for New Year's Eve and I don't want to have baby that day. I'd really like to go into labor early - just a few days, maybe!

Well funny enough that I started this thread!

I went into labour the day before my ELCS (38w+2)! The night before this, I had mild contractions all evening starting at 8pm so I decided to go to bed; sure enough they disappeared. The following morning (day before my elcs), I had a small bloody show (pink tinged cervical mucus) at 9am and mild contractions 10 min apart. I called L&D and they advised me to come in for a check since I live an hour away. When I got there I was 2 cm dilated and 6 min apart which was at 11 am.

Was scheduled for the next non emerg c section and had my baby girl that evening at 6pm (contractions were 2-4 cm at 4 pm and not very intense since I've been in full labour before; waters were intact).

The whole experience was very clinical but positive. The worst part for me was when my blood pressure dropped soon after commencing the surgery which made me very nauseous so I told the anthesiologist and he gave me a shot of adrenalin I think and I felt fine within minutes. The hour after in recovery was a little rough too as i felt very faint and nauseous and even vomitted twice but it all seems like a blur because I was so happy to see my baby safe and healthy since I have experienced neonatal loss with my first. Every day gets better and now at day 8, I feel great but can't walk or stand for long periods of time. My boobs and nipples hurt more from engorgement and bfeeding.

Anyways, I thought I would share since I seriously stalked every thread in C Section and Third Tri during the final few weeks and everyone's experiences made this pregnancy very reassuring for me.

Wishing you all good luck and hope to see you over in the baby forums!

Is it weird that I'm hoping to go into labor before my scheduled c-section? I've never experienced labor or waters breaking and I would like too since I can't give birth normally.

Yep me!i was booked for elective at 38 weeks due to low lying placenta and a previous placenta accreta.however at 36+5 my waters broke and contractions started right away.i went straight in because although my waters were clear and obviously the placenta was enough out of the way there was no way I was risking a hysterectomy by birthing naturally!i went in at 1am and because my contractions wernt too strong my ob decided he wanted til wait til 8am so blood could be easily accessible and all the doctors and others were readily available in case of another emergency.
I most likely went so early as at 35 weeks I stopped my progesterone and nifidepine for an incompetent cervix and came off bed rest and then it all happened!baby was fine 7 pound 8 just had jaundice and lost a decent amount of weight. I was a bit stressed about the op though as I hadn't prepared myself yet not expecting it for a few weeks!
