Hi last week i had a full toenail removed & to have a biopsy on it. I had a little bruise & a black dot that didn't seem to fade for months. So my doctor wanted to check for melanoma.

Has anyone been through this? What was your outcome, also any tips for easing the pain? I'm very squeamish when i have to clean my toe

Thanks for reading x

This may not be the response you're looking for.... Hopefully you've caught yours early that it doesn't come back as that!

A friend of mine had something similar on his finger - he injured it on a hike and it never healed, turning into a black dot that didn't go away for several months. He did leave it for quite a long time before getting it looked at but they did a biopsy and it did come back as melanoma.

His case wasn't the greatest and he ended up having the tip of his finger removed, as it was spreading up to the first knuckle from the tip. Fortunately, that was that with it.

Hoping for the best for you!!
