When I went in to LD thinking I had leaked fluid on Sunday they did tons of vaginal swabs. One of which was urea plasma/ mycoplasma. I still didn't get results for it but everything else was normal. My OB was annoyed saying he doesn't even understand why they bother testing for that since it's such a common bacteria 70% of ppl have it. My understanding isn't lives in genital tract and if it overflows it causes a positive result. Some Drs treat others don't. It's not classified as an std but you can pass it to your partner and vice versa if you have it so some Drs treat both partners. My dr said if found he has to treat it as some literature says it can lead to preterm labor etc but the link is vague and unclear. He was just annoyed that they even tested for it. My question is, has anyone had this? Wtf is it? Were you treated or left alone? The hospital said they wouldn't treat it... I'm confused.
