Has anyone handed in their notice whilst on maternity leave?

How did your employer react and if you moved to new employment how were they about providing references?

I handed in my notice while on mat leave. they where fine with it. i bet lots of women do it. they probably part expect it. As long as you hand your notice in and give notice then you have no reason to think you wont get a good reference.

As PP has said just ensure you give plenty of notice and there shouldn't be an issue. After all some-one is already doing your job while your on leave!

Handed in my notice on Friday, I don't know what I was worried about they were great about it all. Took LO in as well which took all the focus off it haha.
