Has anyone heard or tried taking guaifenesin to concieve? as in Robitussin or mucinex

Okay maybe im not alone..
i hope im not alone anyway..
i heard that guafenesin loosens up your cervical mucus thus making it eaier for sprem to swim.. im trying it this month & i will track my cm soo i'll keep you guys posted! i would really love feedback on this topic maybe some success stories?

I have heard that helps alot!!!! I am planning on it!! The word they use on her is Mucinex.

I don't think it makes a difference what brand you go for, just make sure the only active ingredient is guaifenesin. I'm in the UK and get Boots' Nirolex for chesty coughs...works out much cheaper than Robitussin.

Also drinking grapefruit juice is supposed to help with CM production, as is taking evening primrose oil caps (but ONLY up until ovulation, not in your 2 week wait)

i tried it on my 3rd round of clomid and got pg! mc tho but i think its was more to do with clomid getting pregnant as i tried it last month and didnt work.

even on the month i fell pg i didnt notice any difference in my cm.. but im on day 11 today so might start taking it again

My ob/gyn just told me last week to start taking it. He told me one dose of Robitussin in the am and one in the pm. Let you know if it helped anything b/c I've been doing it for the last couple of weeks and am just entering the tww.

&& i think im starting to ovulate so i took my mucinex
hopefully this turns out!
cm is still pretty dry but i had some tiny cramps by my ovarys..
i ovulate the 28th or atleast thats what my chart says..


oh btw the mucinex pills ughhhh -___________-
horrible sour taste..

Hi, Keepinhope. Also wanted to let you know that my dr told me to start taking the robitussin when af ends. Hopefully, you want have to use that tip next month, b/c you'll be preggers. Good luck.

So, to clarify - you take it just like EPO, from first day of cycle until you ovulate? Or all cycle long?

i read you pretty much jus take it 3 days before&after your ovulation? but i guess it works all month long? im not sure i just know it thins out yor cm & i do back this theory up! i did the ''babydance'' last night & it was very ''lubricated'' lol im actually a bit sick right now..probably not a pg symptom just stuffy nose& chest a lil cough now and then..

LOL I agree they are rank, I started off with the liquid form, ... now that is disgusting, I just could not keep it up!!

been using it a few months now, i does thin my CM but so far no BFP but on clomid now so keep using it too to help... anything i can do to help ... lol

Hi guys, hope you don't mind me dipping in here?

For poor CM I use FertileCM it's made by an American company called Fairhaven Health. I get mine off of ebay but I've just googled it and you can also buy it on Amazon.

The reason why I'm telling you this is because I didn't have great CM to start with and then Clomid completely dried me up (tmi). Anyway, FertileCM has given me back CM to the point that I am very excited to see some EWCM of a stretch of about an inch.

It's expensive but I love it and it's been worth every penny to me.
