Hi, ladies. I am wondering if anyone has seen what I saw this past weekend. I was a day late (and I am regular at 22/24 days/cycle) and moody (when am I not), and at the request of my DH took a pregnancy test late afternoon on day 26. The test was a store brand cheapie. It started filling in negative, although that was a very faint line itself, and then at 45 seconds into the test waiting period the line disappeared! By the time the 2 minutes had completed there was only a dot at about the center. What happened? What is going on?

BTW, I did make an appointment with my gyno and did tell them it was for lack of a period with a negative pregnancy test. I have until next Wednesday to get AF.

Do you mean that the second line disappeared, the control line? If so, then the test is a dud. Don't trust anything on it, negative or positive.

If you were watching the strip after getting it wet and seeing the moisture move across the window, then it's really, really common to see the test line show up briefly and disappear as the moisture moves over and past it. It's just the extra dye that didn't bind to the test hormone lifting up, not a true reaction with the hormone.

The test line disappeared after the moisture had fully migrated across and then stayed gone, except for the single dot I mentioned. The control line did not go anywhere. :dohh: Like I said I am working under the assumption that is a negative (this way hopes are not too harshly dashed).
